Then what would differentiate college sports from pro sports? we'd have pros and pros. makes no sense. kids would come right out of high school into the "pros" and then 4 years later go into the "pros" again. wtf.
No, because they'd still be going to college and be students. they would just get a base stipend, and I am talking very low, for their play during the season.
The universities make millions off selling jerseys, game tickets, alumni donors, ect ect ect.. Why should the actual athletes not get a very small cut of the money since they are the ones doing the actual work?
Not to mention our high standards that college athletes are held to. They are constantly in the spotlight and any minor fuckup is immediately noticed and made public
