that is a bad ass grinder though. I've had my current grinder for the past 6 or 7 years. and I still use it everyday. i should get a new one for myself for xmas or something.

Top 5 grinders of all times, I didn't get to vote, as a matter of fact not many people probably voted. If you believe bullshit top 5's from some very shitty designed website that doesn't even look legit, then I don't really know about you.
The reason I liked the diamond one was because of the screens, and that is the only reason, the pyramid one is superior, maybe the pyramid one you had was a plastic piece of shit.
Wanna know what happened to my diamond one? I put a hole in the bottom of it from hitting it against a broom stick while making kief to brick into hash with buds that were grinded in the middle.
I didn't care because they grind like shit, and I had like 12 of the pyramid ones.
Just because I am telling you the truth does not mean I am acting like an expert. I have used both quite a bit. I am just telling you from experience rather than running a dicksucker trying to act cool with smart remarks towards someone telling me the truth that I cannot take because I have and support the inferior product.
The diamond ones are shit, they do grind ok, takes alot more work, yet they don't grind no where near as easily or fine as the pyramid ones. I believe there was even a thread on the shroomery about two or three years ago about them also, and people who have had both types quality on both of them agree that it is the pyramid that grinds better.
Don't use some bullshit top 5 brand names of grinders in an argument. That site has a shitty design, and is just some bullshit spit out, advertising, and showing top 5 brand name products. The guy who probably wrote it has not even used all 5 of those grinders, nor one that has pyramid teeth. Those top 5 are based on having pollen catchers and brand names.
Next time I get weed, want me to make a video of me crushing stems into powder? Then you can take your grinder and see how it gets stuck on the stems instead of breaking them? Maybe I could find some stems laying around to prove a point. It'd probably be a while seeing as I moved to the middle of nowhere and don't have a vehicle at this time to get weed with but, I would be sure to bump this thread with a video, I will look for some stems but I doubt I have any because I smoked what I had after running out.

However, you saying that that website looks bad and that you shouldn't trust top X lists does not make you right. Give me a single reason the pyramid ones would grind it better? Also, the main factor to how fine it gets is the time spent grinding, and the size of the holes for the herbs to fall through.
Also, pyramid ones have screens too.

Not trying to troll, three turns on a pyramid one is like 5 or 6 turns on a diamond one.
You post some shitty designed website like it is legit with some guys opinion who has obviously not used both or is not rating the grinders for doing their job, but rather for looks and the added piece in the middle for catching pollen, aka addons.
What kind of proof do you need?
You don't really need any proof what you need to do is get a pyramid one for yourself and you see how fucking retarded you are for even trying to argue over this topic, for supporting the diamond ones. The quality of the grind is noticeable just by turning it once and seeing how easily it grinds then looking and seeing how much more it actually grinded.
The pyramid ones have screens, but most people, if not all will rip that screen out because it is nothing like the space case type grinder where the weed falls through the holes then lands on the screen, instead only parts of the bud that are on the holes goes touches the screen.
Most people prefer the diamond ones only for the screen, not the grind quality.

I was using the pyramid able to take buds/stems into powder as an example, the most I could get out of the space case was smaller chunks, not actual powder.
And I kinds did like smoking powder sometimes, made it easy and even for a 1 hit cash bowl for a bong. I also preferred the stems to be powder as they don't ever really burn to well or even in chunks, but they damn sure burn a lot better in powdered form. Turning stems into powder is kind of alot of work.

Diamond are the better option, obviously...
As a veteran, I can tell you Space Case has the best machining and materials out there. I used to be in the business and they use the best machines with the closest tolerances to create their pieces. I love them, but they do cost you about 200% more. Plus how can you turn down a titanium grinder that doesn't dull?

Oh no no I mean you only scrape up the kief and smoke it for special occasions. You might be able to screw just the top portion and bottom portion so it's a 3 piece but I'm not sure if the threads are meant to handle that so be careful if you do purchase one and try that.
Personally I wouldn't get anything but a 4 piece w/ screen. I don't even use my screen much but I can if I want to and that's a comforting feeling... If you are really strapped for cash, go for an off brand such as the one posted by TBDS or Sharp Stone. They get the job done and have stepped up machining in recent years to compete with Space Case... I'd give their grinders and 8/10 but SC easily get 9.5+/10 from me.

I have the five piece Sharpstone and can confirm that at least on those models the threading is interchangeable. Sometimes when I don't have any appreciable amount of kif saved up it's nice to take the screens out and have a more conveniently sized pocket grinder.

Ahh man I was looking at the 2 piece space case last night... I think I'm going to get that one first and work my way up to the 4 piece model. That is unless the 4 piece can be complete without the screen with interchangeable threads--then I'll be getting just the 4 piece model. One and Done!

Get the titanium spacecase that inverted posted, i have the same one and it is epic
i have had lots of grinders but this is by far the best, smooth as butter even though mines been through hell
and yeah you can remove the section with the screen and it will make the grinder pocket sized

ugh, sorry those two are crooked. That's my grinder. It's the only one ive used for the past 6 years or so. it does the trick. I'm not enough of a snob to recommend one over another. just seems like a grinder is a grinder to me. vintage ftw.

When ever beautiful trichome frosted nugs get thrown into a grinder I just think of all those trichomes getting mashed and smeared within the grinder. Though I know it doesn't make a noticeable difference in the high, I still can't help but think about all those trichomes getting destroyed.
...And, of course if you have a kif catcher some of the bulbous-tops from the trichomes are going to fall through the screen .
Grinders are convenient for sure, though I don't roll that often. I like the consistency of the weed to be a bit more chunky then fine/powder in joints/blunts/bowls etc...Burns nice & slow.
When it comes to a vaporizer though, getting the bud to a fine consistency is nice  ...

they didn't always have a clear top, it's a new feature.
i love the big holes they have though, i think it grinds to the absolute perfect consistency.

They use a very high quality material for the gasket/bushing where the lid contacts the next section where all the rotational friction occurs. I've noticed on lesser brands such as my sharp stone, it has stretched and become frosty colored with so much use, whereas the 4-year old Space Case I used to own was as good as brand new when removed and cleaned with Iso... In fact I was scared to remove it because it remained so tight over the years.

The best grinder I've ever owned my plastic volcano grinder.
It grinds through anything with EXTREME ease.
It grinds it down to a finer product than any metal grinder, more surface area for smoking.
It doesn't have a keif collecting chamber but those are a con anyway - after enough use any grinder will get to a point where no more keif can be collected inside it and the rememnants will get dumped out with the bud you're going to smoke.
Plastic grinders FTW. Cheap, effective, durable. I'll never buy a metal grinder again.

I second the opinion that the volcano grinder, or other cheap triangular tooth plastic grinder works really well, it just makes the bud too powdery for me, i like being able to pick it up with ease and not have to use a credit card or something
Spacecase TI and Volcano grinder = all the grind power i will ever need
