I'd love to support the site but I don't just have money to be giving away, and if I did frankly there's other charities I would think of first.  But it's cool that people do.

Funny story. I joined shroomery quite awhile back, in fact I think I was underage at the time. Anyways when I first seriously started getting into the thought of growing shrooms I inquired to a certain sponser about something, and they offered to ship me some free syringes for nothing because they noticed I had a shroomery supporter tag, which I recieved because I had been registered for so long which added into points or something like that. It was awhile ago but the point being is I had to do nothing and give in nothing yet I got free spore syringes.

I've no idea, I don't really post there anymore. The knowledge has been absorbed, the community is stagnant. I think I managed to accumulate 1,500 or something posts over there prior to the growery's creation. I like it better here.

no doubt about that. the main site needs a lot of work here. For a while we were doing good on the glossary. But that's not as hot now and people aren't adding like they were. I was never on overgrow. Which upsets me now. I like icmag now. It's got a LOT of great growers from all over the world. It's an interesting mix though. You need to know who is who.

I stopped supporting when they disabled my PM's for MHBound's retarded bullshit. I will not likely sponsor this site again. I have donated well over 100 bucks over my time here as well as purchasing Shroomery merchandise. I am very thankful for all the information I have learned and for the existence of such great communities. However, I do think that veterans do deserve a bit better treatment.

I know that is about the only beef a lot of people have with erowid is that it is not updated often enough. It's a great resource though. Where I normally start if I am looking for general information

OverGrow was epic. I was around for a longgggggg time. I wish I still had my grow logs from that site  I think Mag was a mod there...
I learned more there in 2 years than all years since then. It was BY FAR the biggest and best cultivation resource ever created, as well as having the best, most experienced member base we could ever dream of.
Sadly there will never be anything like it again, and that's just the truth... Far too many growers swore off posting on internet forums because of that shutdown and the paranoia that followed.

I hate to bring this thread back up, but I figued it'd be the best place to ask this question
Does having a supporter account grant you instant accsess to the marketplace/lot?

A supporter account is a way for members to DONATE money to help keep this site functional, pay the admins, provide money for a defense legal fund, and to buy new hardware to support the growing communities
Now to your question. At the Growery you get several things; you get an @growery.org email address which is pretty cool although the email service itself is pretty shitty (granted it's been a year or more since my last supporter account), you get to have the little "S" tag next to your name so everyone knows you support the site, get to change the color of your name, slightly larger avatar, increased upload limit for images and 1 free name change.
That's off the top of my head, some things could have changed. If you purchase it at the Shroomery, you get the same features but also granted access to about half dozen "secret" forums.

well thats what i figured. just like shroomerys. but im glad i never pumped money into them. i just joined this site so ill have to stick around a bit

not worth the money if you are only interested about what you are getting in return, but if you want to financially help a website that you use then go for it.
Ive donated a couple times over my total 5 1/2 years of membership. I feel every "regular" should support the site occasionally, regardless of any differences you're having.
