I've been on the shroomery for a few years now, giving advice and learning about fungal cultivation and use. I decided to pop over here and see if I can't learn something new, and expand my knowledge of what I enjoy smoking so much  . I've looked around this site and I must say I'm very impressed. Basically just wanted to come in and say hi!

dont get us wrong most of us started on the shroomery i cant speak for the other members but i dont grow or eat shrooms anymore .However i smoke bud every day of my life so i feel this is home for me ...I like heady dank buds

at the shroomery you can make a post and end up with a discussion within 3 mins
the shroomery has more people with more hands on experience
with that said i would recommend choosing either hydro or soil and read as much as possible on one of those two subjects to start.

These are just a few good places to start.
I highly reccommend FurrowedBrow's guide on everything it really is extremely informative.
If ya wanna grow well you've got to read, read, read, read, read.
Someone once said that The Smoke Lounge/Thunderdome are just for breaks in between reading about the hobby. In that sense the 'slow pace' of the Growery is more beneficial for us researchers. Less distraction although I do find the conversation more whole hearted than the flaming troll orgy on Shroomery.

Heh, the shroomery is like a family with drunken parents sometimes . Usually I'm helping out in #cultivation there, hopefully giving good advice. thanks for the start up man, soil's deffinitely the way I'm gonna start it off.

well maybe its just that juke shit on me over here for no reason
but i just about never get a response on the growery(untill after a 48 hour bump) and i all ways end up in an argument here. with people who think they know way to much.
And i dont know why you have problems at the shroomery but i sure as hell dont. at least not in mush cult or the ethno garden.
w/e i have donated a few hundred bucks to her because she deserves it
i wouldn't think about supporting or giving anything away here.

It has its moments I guess but this place is far superior IMO. And also, it takes a while for responses cause 90% of the people here are high off there ass, as I am now. Just be patient senior. even with a nice set up grow log i have had like 4 people comment on

Well regardless it's a really great guide to some advanced techniques that are actually quite easy when you've got the know-how (which you provided).
SmOakland I totally agree, although I don't often post in the Grow Journals or whatever I'm always watching it to compare differences between my techniques and those of more experienced growers.
Edit: one of the most frustrating things about growing (for me) is the immense difference that your initial investment makes in the quality of your grow. It's all about if you've got the money for the primo supplies (nutrients, lighting, fans, pH meters, carbon scrubbers, ect.). Although some things like hydro systems and cabinets/grow areas can be improvised many things in this hobby cannot unlike mycology for which you really only need to have enough to buy a PC.

I find that I am much more active in the grow section when i am actively growing something. Otherwise this is a social outlet. Did you guys notice that grow journals can now be viewed according to subcategory? 'Completed' and 'in process'. i love that addition. I'll agree about the up front costs to an extent. A LOT of people try to do a really half-assed job and just set up a pot and put any old soil it in and hope the plant survives. I'm guilty of that too. Then I got my shit together and bought a little bit of gear. So for a lot of people the most frustrating thing is their own ignorance! thank the flying spaghetti monster for the internet.

Yeah, I think that's a great addition as well. I lurk there a bit. Don't really post much, except in Inverted's threads usually. Once in a while, someone else's. You can get any question answered in there and MJ cult by just reading and not really posting much I've found out.  Great addition though, I agree.
