When the time comes, it is unclear what will bring this pain upon humanity. Pop culture and history have provided us with nearly endless scenarios as to the cause of their inevitable uprising. Below we will be going over some popular and widely excepted scenarios,

A Quick explanation of each...
Viral Zombies
This is perhaps the most common and widely accepted version of the zombie in existence. Basically, the “Zombie Virus” would spread from person to person via infected blood or a bite, cursing the victim to the same fate as their attacker. It is also possibly the scariest. Not because of what they are, but because it is probably the most real scenario for the inevitable day the world turns upside down. I say that because, in the present day world, there are already virus’s that do something similar. Take for example the Lyssa virus (rabies). This virus affects the central nervous system causing the infected subject to become disoriented, aggressive, partially paralyzed, and in some cases cannibalistic. The Virus is generally spread through infected, blood, nerves, and saliva, very similar to a zombie bite. There are several other Viral Zombie Scenarios that we will go over much more in depth in our summary of the viral zombie.
Parasitic Zombies
Similar in a way to viral zombies, parasitic zombies in turn are caused by a parasitic organism rather then a virus. Again, this is a very real possibility as similar parasites already exist in nature today. Parasites have one purpose in their lives, and that is to reproduce, and sometimes they take drastic measures to see that this happens. A very specific parasitic fungus found in the African rain forests, takes control of the brains of ants directing them upwards to the twigs and leaves above their colonies. Once above the colony, the parasite consumes the body of the ant and rains millions of spores on the colony dooming the rest of the colony to its fate. It is reasonable to assume that a similar parasite may one day exist in humans and be spread through mucus membranes or a zombie bite. Several other theories exist on the possibility of parasitic zombies and can be found in our summary of the parasitic zombie.
Toxic Zombies
This is a very broad classification. The term Toxic Zombie refers to zombies that are created by some form of poor human habit. Some common examples of toxic zombies would be zombies that are created from an accidental chemical spill, or buried radioactive or nuclear waste. This type of zombie is more or less considered purely science fiction. Granted, radiation has been known to cause random forms of mutation and defects, although it is highly unlikely (however possible) that radiation could cause ordinary people to become a form of zombie. Toxic Zombies would be a fairly dangerous form of zombie to faced with, because their very creation is usually a mystery and questionable in nature, making it hard to come up with a proper counter strategy. Supernatural Zombies
Supernatural zombies are by far the most dangerous of all the various zombie types. These are creatures that have been created by some form of supernatural means, simply meaning that they don't have to adhere to the most basic physical laws that govern our world. Supernatural zombies are in essence the true “walking dead”. They are reanimated corpses brought forth by some powerful “evil force” to rain chaos on humanity. There are an almost infinite number of scenarios that pose the potential to create supernatural zombies. Anything from demonic possession and dark rituals to passing comets and solar eclipses, basically anything that can’t be explained by conventional science. In the famous words of 1978s “Dawn of the Dead”, “When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.” To find out more information about Supernatural zombies please read our in-depth summary.

Supernatural zombies have been around in Haitian and/or Voodoo rituals for a long time
there are also parasites that turn insects into real life zombies
and look up the "zombie drug" there are news reports of a drug that can turn people into zombies to be used as accessories in crimes

Zombie movies have moved away from them though and as a result the other zombie types have been fleshed out 
but as far as I'm concerned even though they may be slow ambling brain seeking corpses their shear numbers make them a bigger threat than the other types

thanks to this thread i had a horrible nightmare about zombies last night.
well i think they were zombies. worst fucking dream ever.
woke up having panic attack because i couldnt get away and knew i was gonna die.
first nightmare since i was like 3.

If you had woken up in panic then you had a night terror and you wouldn't have remembered said terror.
However if you remembered the dream the next day then it was a nightmare, you're body has nightmare's and night terror's at different periods of sleep therefore you couldn't have woken up in panic still remembering the dream.
You just got Psychologized, BITCH!

Nah never been on any medication or prescribed stuff like that before, I don't really like taking pills or medication's, even things like Panadol.
Do they actually work at helping you dream more vividly?

some things help very much, im sure somebody on heres gotta know the pills that work best.
but melatonin makes me dream alot, you can get it almost anywhere really, cause its produced int he brain to help you sleep. 3mg's is good for me to have dreams and fall asleep.

Yeah, melatonin is fucking awesome for dreaming. I'll have 10-15 dreams and they are soo vivid. Occasionally it makes me go lucid which is pretty fun.

I love my dreams. If I wake up with no memory of a dream I feel robbed. That's rarely a problem for me though thankfully. I have some seriously intense vivid dreams. Sometimes as dreams inside of dreams. Those are one of my favs.
I love it when a deep long dream that really reaches you comes along. The kind that sticks with you a couple of days thinking about it a lot. They are a lot like a trip in a way.
As a matter of fact the most fun trip I ever had was in a dream where I dreamed I was tripping. Felt more real than some regular trips I've had.

I know exaxcly what you mean by a dream that sticks too you. Usually for me though they are end of the world dreams
Also I had a very vivid dream once that my dad became a serial killer and killed me and my whole family, I couldn't be in the same room with him without having a knife on me for the next week. Now that dream fucked with me.

That's pretty messed up. I don't think I've had one fuck with me that hard since I was a kid. That's probably a good thing. I'm pretty satisfied with mine the way they are now when I actually think about it. That hasn't always been the case.

Yeah thats the only one that I've ever had that was really fucked up. Otherwise I love my dreams and get vivid ones regularily. I've also noticed that the most vivid dreams happen right when I start a tolerence break from weed.

Australia is in the same boat, but I think in terms of killing power its better off, they are nice and thick with a flat face and a narrow side, plus they always have a real good weight to them. Super effective when it comes to dropping zombies IMO.
