up to date on such an important topic I encourage you to check out
the timeline that was posted on wiki HERE But in

as venting my frustrations and I hope you will join me in doing the same.

Hydrogen isnt an abundant fuel at all man.  Its an abundant element, but not fuel.  In fact, rather than an energy source its more appropriate to think of it as a storage medium.

I heard da gubment done recovered some confangled device from one of those UFO crafts that has the power of self renewing energy thus would be able to be used by anyone free and no more need for various industries.. meaning such technology would never be shared with the public. Bad for business.

Not to sound all :tinfoil: but through the years I've been keeping up with the whole "UFO disclosure" thing and have watched a bunch of random History Channel specials and shit like that where they have displayed some extremely compelling evidence. Like so compelling to the point where to anyone with half a brain it's fucking obvious based on some of the evidence has been brought forward and more importantly the people who have chosen to breech military security and testify about things they know and have personally witnessed and 100% of the time were of course told to keep quiet about it often with the implications of bodily harm for non compliance.

I even watched this one show where they LITERALLY recovered a CIA/FBI document and it was a fucking instruction guide on how to do a cover up, how to handle the public, how to make it look "convinced". I find myself growing more and more disgusted by the second knowing that our government who has done and continued to do ridiculous unfavorable shit, on behalf of all Americans in the eyes of the world mind you, and when it comes down to it they don't tell the public a fucking thing and frequently concoct bold face lies to spew to the American public and they just fucking get away with it. I feel SO disturbed knowing this, it really is to the point where I'm sure if I had the means I wouldn't be apposed to leaving for Canada, Amsterdam, Swizterland or some distant or not so distant land.

conclusion:
I'm fucking tired of the lies, the outright deception. What's worse is the constant insult to the intelligence of the American people by giving us these fucking ridiculous stories about weather balloons and other lies. To put it simply, they lie every chance they get and suppress all information to the point where they only release the bare minimum and only when it becomes absolutely necessarily, and often diluted with lies anyway. Think about how little amazing technologies we've heard about in the past 10 years or so imagine what they must be capable of, I'm sure they are well aware of cheaper more efficient ways of powering the world but are sucking us dry for all the oil before they'd ever let that information out and things like oil would become obsolete.

Also, Fungal Biodiesel. Probably as common as any other alternative fuel when that subject comes up in debate, I'm not saying right now that it is perfect.

But I am saying it is worth looking at if you don't know about it.

If we so please, we will easily be able to get out from places other than over seas by making it our self from growing fungus.

:themoreyouknow:

But yea, the gulf coast shit sucks.

But I'm personally I feel certain it will eventually be taken care of.

DEAD IN THE WATER
Animals Flee Oil, Crowd Shallow Waters.. Scientists Warn Of 'Mass Die-Off'

GULF SHORES, Ala. — Dolphins and sharks are showing up in surprisingly shallow water just off the Florida coast. Mullets, crabs, rays and small fish congregate by the thousands off an Alabama pier. Birds covered in oil are crawling deep into marshes, never to be seen again.

Marine scientists studying the effects of the BP disaster are seeing some strange phenomena.

Fish and other wildlife seem to be fleeing the oil out in the Gulf and clustering in cleaner waters along the coast in a trend that some researchers see as a potentially troubling sign.

The animals' presence close to shore means their usual habitat is badly polluted, and the crowding could result in mass die-offs as fish run out of oxygen. Also, the animals could easily get devoured by predators.

"A parallel would be: Why are the wildlife running to the edge of a forest on fire? There will be a lot of fish, sharks, turtles trying to get out of this water they detect is not suitable," said Larry Crowder, a Duke University marine biologist.

The nearly two-month-old oil spill has created an environmental catastrophe unparalleled in U.S. history as tens of millions of gallons of have spewed into the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem. Scientists are seeing some unusual things as they try to understand the effects on thousands of species of marine life.

Day by day, scientists in boats tally up dead birds, sea turtles and other animals, but the toll is surprisingly small given the size of the disaster. The latest figures show that 783 birds, 353 turtles and 41 mammals have died – numbers that pale in comparison to what happened after the Exxon Valdez disaster in Alaska in 1989, when 250,000 birds and 2,800 otters are believed to have died.

Researchers say there are several reasons for the relatively small death toll: The vast nature of the spill means scientists are able to locate only a small fraction of the dead animals. Many will never be found after sinking to the bottom of the sea or getting scavenged by other marine life. And large numbers of birds are meeting their deaths deep in the Louisiana marshes where they seek refuge from the onslaught of oil.

"That is their understanding of how to protect themselves," said Doug Zimmer, spokesman for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

I just feel lucky that this didn't happen in my region. We've had some close calls here, an oil tanker crashing and spilling is a real threat. When something like this happens to area's already suffering economically, the devastation of the lives of the people living there is untold.

What does a fisherman who's spent the past 30 years fishing, investing his life into his own business, do when this shit happens? Up to 50% of some coastal towns are employed in the fishing industry.

To put it simply, they lie every chance they get and suppress all information to the point where they only release the bare minimum and only when it becomes absolutely necessarily, and often diluted with lies anyway. Think about how little amazing technologies we've heard about in the past 10 years or so imagine what they must be capable of, I'm sure they are well aware of cheaper more efficient ways of powering the world but are sucking us dry for all the oil before they'd ever let that information out and things like oil would become obsolete.

there was some epic thread not too long ago on the shroomery that got me into all that.

I thank you for the post. Our government and the agencies that are supposed to protect us have been bought and sold for many decades now. Like she says money and stock holders is their bottom line and the rest are expendable.

Yes but what's the better option right now? There just quite frankly is not an affordable vehicle that runs on an alternative fuel.  And if you say Corn Ethanol I'm going to fly to your house and punch you in the mouth.

Still not that great. Yields twice the ethanol of corn, but that's only 6%. Algae is about the only biofuel at this point that I consider economically viable AND environmentally friendly. Cellulosic Ethanol has great potential but quite frankly I'm opposed to ALL biofuels because they still entail burning alcohol and releasing carbon into the atmosphere. Granted, growing crops sequesters carbon to a point, but I have a very hard time calling anything environmentally friendly or "green" if the end result is burning it and exhausting it through a tailpipe.

Its a step up from the 454 chevy getting 5-8 mpg, the only real answer is less automobiles.

well no it's not really. That same chevy still gets the exact same mileage on biofuels. That's exactly why I'm so opposed to them, they do NOTHING for efficiency, they just change the source of the emissions. People take their H2's and convert them to biofuel and then continue to get 10mpg but they feel all warm and fuzzy inside because it's supposedly "green" :stonedjerk:

Our biggest obstacle is the fuel companies we have. There was an electric car that worked well but guess who put a stop to that. Ethanol is still using gas in its mix and not good for the planet, its like me saying that i can`t do coke but meth will not hurt me in the long run. I also love this stupid phrase cleaner burning coal, really is this not a stupid saying. Anyone who has been to the open prairies where I live know that wind is always blowing but it cost over $5.000 of your own money to put up wind generator and you will still not be able to go off the grid with that one, you need the bigger one which is several thousands more and this price does not include the tower, that cost is separate.

That's where the "smart grid" comes in.

Power will flow both ways in the future. When the wind is blowing and sun is shining at your house you will be generating energy for your home plus extra, and the power companies will be able to buy that energy from you in exchange for being able to pipe in power when you need it to your home.

Most homes will also have a large amount of batteries that will be charged by your own means so you don't have to go to the power company for your electricity if you don't want to.

They don't want us to go off the grid, just make it more efficient.

Wireless power grids are the future.  Monthly payment and you could be hooked in, of course it's useless outside the grid but that's where solar could pick up the slack.

Yes sir, I'm taking place in the first smart grid in the country (maybe the world... not sure about that.).  Boulder, Co is going online with smart grid energy flow next year and tons of other little adjustments that I'm just thrilled about

I saw that the first storm Alex I think is the name is heading in, you know it is going to blow all of that oil on to the land and like you said the vegetation and all land plants and animals will start dieing off too, but BP will try to say that it has nothing to do with them and the spill of coarse

thats some fucked up shit dude.
i hate the time we are living in with all these problems that are going on, and there arent enough people who care to do anything about it.

oh and i didnt think that the oil would evaporate, i thought it was too heavy?
i dont know this for a fact though, so it could possibly be raining down on us, i mean i already think that the rain has polution in it. i mean look at acid rain, this is just as bad.

The media is not even beginning to let you guys know the scope of this disaster.

I really don't even want to talk about it.

they cant even use the oil booms properly.  all of that boom you see is doing virtually nothing.

also, the relief wells will not work.

Its a bunch of guys down there collecting the cash for the work and standing around with their thumbs up their asses.

Can't blame em, the scope of this spill is massive, it would kind of suck to be skimming off some sludge and see only more sludge on every horizon.

If this happened here I'd probably end up doing the same thing vs facing indefinite unemployment.

yes the coast guard has them halted for some stupid reason.  i shit you not, these men are literally lying down on top of the piles of booms and sleeping.  while they should be collecting the boom and laying new boom.

and they arent laying it properly.  all that boom you see isnt being used properly as the video i posted above explains in a very informative and somewhat humorous narrative

That sounds pretty typical of city, county, state, and federal employee's.

Alright, I just finished watching.

1. I have actually been certified to deploy boom in case of an emergency spill. Being said, I would not be the first person I would call to do this, even being certified.

2. Being an avid fisherman and living near the coast, I am very aware of the tidal action of the ocean, as should anyone who lives near the ocean or has seen an ocean on TV.

Even a complete retard could figure out after 10 minutes that if you lay the boom open to the wind, you are effectively wasting it. :facepalm3:

First off, the media is paid for by commercials and have not been big about reporting or even asking the tough questions because they could loose sponsors(commercials)(P.S.Not making excuses for them). Bottom line for these oil companies is the all mighty dollar and stock holders, we are expendable(funny we pay for their shit that keeps them in biz) If everyone was to boycott BP how fast do you think their stock would drop since this country is their biggest junkie. If you look into BP response plan before this happened all it was(still is)shit. Some of the people listed for contact info on deep sea oil spill were dead or not working there anymore(I mean like years off their payroll), the numbers were either not working or just went to an answering machine. Do you guys know about the health issues that are happening to the clean up works and families along there as well, but they say that has nothing to do with the oil leak  I had to edit this after i posted it. I remember that it used to be a reporters dream to catch and report the big stories and not be afraid, actually they use to pride themselves on busting these big ass companies when they would do this kind of shit(Edward R. Merrel would be shitting himself to see how the reporters have turned out) They give a award in his name even to tough reporters who report the tough stories but no one in our media deserves this now.

Im glad this thread is getting the attention it needs. I urge people
to not be frightened by whats going on. Always keep a positive mind
even when forced to deal with the worst evils this world has to offer.
We a clearly seeing some of that now.

The mainstream media shitshow is not going to keep us properly
informed about anything until they are forced to do so. And even then
they still might try and tip tor around this bullshit.
Huffington Post is decent and there
are a couple others sites that shed a little more light on whats going
on.

It's pretty sad. Read reading of the timeline or general information on wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deepwater_Horizon_oil_spill

In the mean time BP stock goes down just about each time some bad news hits. Feel sorry for the people who think it is a good investment. The worst is yet to come, for at least another month or possibly 6 months. Just so you know if you are investing in them, you will not see a return like you are possibly expending until at least 6 months, if not 2 years.

I try to keep hope that the people of this great country will wake up and open their eyes to the corruption and evil taking over(it has been taking over for awhile now) this country. Politicians are paid by these companies and who do you think they are going to side with, the ones lining their pockets, these same politicians say how much they are god fearing people but I ask you this, you think god is looking down on us(if you believe there is one) and saying boy I love what you guys have done with the place. I have already boycotted BP and I now have added SHELL to the list after watching those videos about the delta in Africa where they just do not give a crap how they are destroying the animals and people there. Sorry to rant but open your eyes america and see the huge ass oil rig in the room

Boycotting BP will make the situation even worse.  You may want vengeance... but it would be better if BP had record profits this year.  That would be the best thing for the gulf in terms of economics and environment.  A broke and bankrupt BP cannot do anything and cannot meet its financial responsibility in the gulf.

If you care about the environment, and you care about the lives of those in the gulf you would buy from, not boycott, BP.  But if you care more about vengeance than actually helping then go ahead and boycott - it will hurt BP, it will hurt the gulf residents and it will hurt the environment.

It would be so incredibly hard to boycott them anyways. They produce not only oil for us but all things made from oil including pop cans
and the asphalt we drive on. What people should focus on is boycotting oil in general. We need to take a huge step back or we will
wait until the oil is almost gone. If you know what that means its not
a world you want to live in.

I agree that we need to get off oil all together but do you really think that by giving the company profits it is going to help the situation down there, there are not really doing anything now, and if they keep getting profits what incentive do they have to give a damn about us anyways which by their actions already they do not care about us, it is the money and stock holders(do you have stock diecommie in them, I only ask because if you watch the reports that sounds like some thing they would say) I am not picking a fight so plz everyone do not start one but if we do not start holding these companies accountable who the hell will. I know oil is a lot of our everyday products and deahearts is right we need to kick all things made of oil, or at the least minimize our need of them.

A lot of people have the misconception that the government will hold these companies responsible for their actions, where it is quite the contrary, the government today functions to prop up these companies and make sure business as usual keeps going for them.

In today's society it is up the individual citizens of this country to hold these companies responsible, through necessary litigation. It has become that someone has to basically dedicate their life and money to fighting a corporation in this country, because they wield such power compared to the average citizen.

We gotta work together to keep corporations in check in this country, because our politicians are not in the business of doing so.

Jimmy was okay but had to houses working against him at every corner, so he could not get a lot done, and when Clinton was in office we had surplus of money, but they all had their issues as well, and yes JFK was a great one(he was going to disban the FBI). to bad we never got to see what else he would have been able to do

I was looking at that link and it had an article about natural gas extraction from shale (Hydro fracting), I don't know if people are aware of this situation or not, but these gas companies are buying the rights to extract natural gas out of the ground from individual land owners, assuring them that it is completely safe.

Fast Forward. We have the same people who let them extract the gas coming forward. They have found that the chemicals used in the process of busting up the shale and extracting the gas, have ended up in their drinking water, not only that, but there is actually gas mixed into their drinking water.

GettheF-out is right we have turned(more to the point me) have turned this thread into a political debate and I am sorry about that and his link it worth the read.
DungenessDank there is a documentary on HBO called gasland that covers fraking extraction. These people who have these companies doing it next to their property(hali is the first part of their name lol) can light their drinking water right out of the faucet. This same company is part of the horizon oil rig disaster as well.

Has anyone heard more about the inspector who received gifts from BP and Haliburton before the explosion. This guy should be in prison for not doing his job. I have a conscience and could not turn my back on something that could be fatal if not fixed, because if something di happen I could not live with myself if some one died because of my greed. I put people over money

That is horrible. The layer of oil beneath the sand is pretty typical of spills. Even after the oil on top is cleaned up, the oil remains on the beaches under a layer sand.

This is another regulatory oversight (not to bring anymore politics into this, but unfortunately I see the two as an intertwined problem)

The Horizon oil rig was registered as a ship from Saint Martin. Inspections for US registered vessels require 4-8 WEEKS on average, while inspections for the exact same vessel registered by a foreign nation, takes 4-8 HOURS. No one in their right mind would think 4-8 hours would allow for a proper inspection of an OIL RIG.

TheBats that is a good link too, lets you see that those videos about the real clean up are all true. How far can this disaster go(not really asking). I saw a report by an ocean biologist that says by the time this gets under control this will have spread around to the east coast and possible effect other countries as well with the residue left behind even after they(cough cough) clean it up. I believe it has been said that they really can not get all of the hydrocarbons out, so the taste and health issue of the marine life will last a very long time

Yep.  If you were to dig at the site of the Exxon Valdez spill you could still find oil pooling about 6 inches underneath the sand.

I believe they are linked as well, but we go off on just that part of it. We need to make sure these links and the real stories get out to others since the media will not do it. They need to see that what the news show them is not the truth. We all got to let the people know that there are major health issues already happening to the residents down there not just the clean up people but ones who live miles from the coast too. Even if they get this oil capped these health issues will still be there and BP says the air is clean even tho they now have a haze that smells bad hanging in the area, just coincidence that it started after the explosion right.

Common sense would say that but we are dealing with a company that truly thinks of people as sheep(and lets be honest most are) and will just say they must be right, why would they lie to us(lol) I don`t know maybe because they would have to pay for those issues as well, and people might actually start watching the real deal about these companies and the way they do biz.

I know what a burning tire smells like, I know what a lot of burning things smell like(some I wish I did not know). I feel for you man, I wish I had the power to turn back the clock on somethings and keep them from happening. I send you good vibes and wishes which I know probably does not help your situation, but I keep you and yours in my thought and hope someone comes up with a miracle fix

I saw that on the news. I am impressed that they are ahead of what they were saying. Maybe now the real clean up can start. My heart goes out to all of the families hit by this disaster. I hate to say this but good job for now BP, lets see you get the mess cleaned up and make sure to take the precautions to keep this from happening again, like drilling the relief wells first like Canada makes the oil companies do.

Yeah, they're stock went up already.  I'm happy about them stopping it.  Let's just hope it stays that way.

I'm curious as to whether or not they got all three or just the main, most significant one.

Yup, exactly the reason I trusted them to fix their uh-oh.

It is the best choice financially to cover their ass.

Same way I think they will get cleaning efforts to increase once the leak is done, it isn't like this is bum-fuck-nowhere alaska. lol

And they are going to reimburse people for sure.

I'm glad I wasn't wrong, I hate being wrong.

Now we just have to put the gulf coast on spin cycle!

I didn't read all of the pages , but anyways ......The oil is in Lake Pontchartrain now. Sposedly they could have stopped it long ago , but didn't want to lose the goldmine of oil they discovered. Fuck BP.

Its far from oil folks. Even if the oil was stopped for good today.
The gulf coast is going to be a shell of its former self. Mark my words.
Also if you do some digging some officials believe that the well we all
know of is just a small part of the spill. There is another leak that
is causing all the damage.

The gulf coast will eventually recover.

To say otherwise is to not understand how long we have to fix it.

Also, another leak? Gimme a link of someone saying this, I'm not saying it doesn't exist.

I just haven't heard about it at all.

Yeah there were two leaks at the horizon site, and another leak at another site.  The main leak has been stopped, for now.

Yeah the second location I would not be too concerned, natural oil seepage can be seen in streaks from space as well.
