Alright I have decided to start My grow now. This will only be a grow to help me learn a little more before I get more serious.
Two DANK Bagseeds both of Diff Strains
First, I already started germinating my seeds using the paper towel method. Once There done germinating I am going to plant them in Keg Cups. Both with a soil-less medium. The Grow will take place in my closet
I am going to use coir(I have a brick of it) now I have Perlite, Peatmoss, Crushed oyster shells, and vermiculite From previous mushroom grows that i could use but It is Miracle Grow Enriched  Now is there a way I could get rid of the miracle grow that is mixed with all that. Or should I just go with coir for now?
As for other stuff Ill update on that As I go.
Also I still need to find nutrients And also when exactly to use them. Still no Idea on balancing my PH. I can do it just need to know what to do. And what kind of water to use for now.
Also I would appreciate it if anyone would help me out as I go.

There's nothing wrong with the MG perlite, its just a very light NPK ratio. I used it for 85% of my seedlings, so they would have a little nourishment from the start, before they got their first dose of nutes, like soil plants do. I can honestly say, from looking at the seedlings in normal non-nutritious perlite, the MG helped early growth.

Ok so As I wait for these germinating seeds I went ahead and built My reflector along with setting up my lights Check it out.

Here are a couple of pics
The temp Stays around 80-81 degrees usually. The humidity is always around 41-43% Humidity. The lights are 5 inches from the tips of the cups.

Hey man it looks good. You could prob move the reflector a few inches closer to your pots, even now before they pop through the soil. I can see the 2 cool whites on the inside and two warm whites on the outside nice job

Yea thanx man. Till I can get some more lights I gotta stick with the 4 but We Will see what happens. I haven't really moved it closer cause the temp is already really high right at the rims of the cups And if I move it closer it will increase.

What's the max watts that those little plug in ballasts take?
I have two ceramic fixtures wired together onto a single power cord, so two cords running off of my four bulb CFL board. Four 55watt bulbs, works great.
I have a hard time seeing doing two plants under that. ~P~

Each power strip is going to be rated differently. And you don't measure how many watts your putting through it, you measure Amps. Most of the good ones are rated at 15 amps. Always check first though.

Hey guys I Have a little question. Does this plant look like its stretching a bit?
Its the A-Wray just 40 hours ago it sprouted And its and inch and a half tall And the second pair of leaves are already coming out there really tiny tho.

Here is a pic of the J-Fire which is shorter but came up last.
I am trying to find out how far the light should be away from the plant it is currently 5 inches from the tip of the A-Wray plant. WHat do you think I should Do? Is everything fine?

You will probably getting airy (aka loose, not dense) buds regardless of the strain under your light setup. Most sativas are loose regardless of the light setup, so under floros they will be very loose. Also, sativas take longer to flower, and plants take a little longer to flower under floros.
Here is my CFL grow from last summer. I did it low budget with 2 $20 65 watt florex bulbs and a bunch of 23 watt bulbs hanging everywhere prob had about 175 watts total. Sorry its from my computer camera:
That whole big plant was just short of an ounce and those sticks im holding are like 3 grams each w/o stem. They were super chronic but loose.

My humidity in my closet is 32 And from reading said it should be 60-70 percent humidity. Is it a must to bring it up? If so, got any ideas on how to?

I wouldn't worry about humidity. I have never seen a marijuana grower have to add humidity to a room. What temperature are you at maybe you should lower your temps to lower the relative humidity.

I have a Fan in there now I mean I have had a outdoor plants in the summer which was males but it survived in the high heats. It actually didn't effect them
And my room temp is is 75 and 43 percent humidity. I can fix it i dont think they seem to be growing fine tho

It would be hard to get a plant so hot that it dies as long as it has enough water. High heat does slow growth though.

Alright so I have a little update and a couple of questions.
1.One of the plants(A-Wray)the tips of the first leaves are both brown on the tips its really hard to see but the tips were yellowish then turned brown just the very tip tho(hardly noticable). Temps stay around 80 degrees. Now the other plant does not have this problem I do not know what it could be.

Just keep gettin more and more floros and put em all over the place and you should be able to get some good buds.

do you have one of those scales that looks like a mini cd case and its got the little piano on the front? lol ey check out my log i got goin on, i think we started on the exact same day, i started germing my seeds 6/8 and the only one that really is growing popped up on 6/11 so i think we are on the EXACT same timeline. cept mines a little bigger  we'll see what happens, keep it like a competition m8!

HELP. Ok listen I am sorry I have been gone I had to go on a important trip some where and asked mother to water my garden I come home to my PLants yellowing.
Number 1: She def over watered like a mother fucker. Can that cause yellowing and droopy leaves?
Number 2: Will they go back to the dark green color they was before?
Number 3: one plant is def a Sativa I believe its leaves are skinny.
Number 4: The sativa looking one took the most damage Any reason why?

Its Almost to hard to put up pics. It really put a stunt in the growth and one of the plants has brown patches on its first leaves but the other was just light green.

Sativas are pretty difficult to grow as they tend to be more demanding and tempermental ime. On my first grow, my skunk plant was fricken beautiful. No problems ever. Grew nicely and beautifully, it was a breeze... sorta...
But my Haze plant...  wow... I cannot tell you what a headache that was. Flowered for an extra month, it stopped growing at one point. Great smoke, but I got airy buds and didn't get much weight.

It's still a small community. Plus, even on really heavily populated boards, it can take time to get good fast responses. Plus asking for help in your log isn't the way to get fast answers.
Good to hear the plants are still growing. Get some pictures up though and fill out one of the forms in DD if you haven't already done so.

Thanx. Its def over watering. My medium is a mix of coir,verm,perlite and crushed oyster shells. How I know its over watering.. Cause i came home to the medium being trenched with water imagine having them trenched everyday for 6 days. The colyteons are yellow on both plants then the first leaves on one plant have brown spots and on turning yellow.
Other plant was just a light green color. But has the yellow colyteons.

Nothing yet. I water when they medium is dry. Trust me I had the watering down until I left on this trip then they got flooded by mother.

Just let the medium get nice and dry. Make sure you stick your pinky into the medium to see if there's moisture underneath the surface.
I read that your medium had some MG in it. Did you ever flush that out?

It actually didnt have MG in it. I only the peat did which I never used. So it isn't nute burn or any of that.

I do not have a ph tester But I am almost positive that its leveled. PH was always good when using this stuff for mushrooms. But idk it could be the problem but I highly doubt it.
I wasn't expecting to have ph issues until I feed. That was the plan at least.

I'm not so sure mushrooms have the same PH requirements that cannabis does. My tap water is suuper alkaline (8.5 or so - fucking old rusty Nazi plumbing) and I feed that stuff to my shrooms right outta the tap.
Now, you'd think PH shouldn't matter if your just feeding them plain water because you're not feeding them nutes yet. However, I believe PH of the medium and even water, if not within the proper range, can still cause problems even if you're not feeding them. PH affects all stages of growth.

Well the pipes are fairly new maybe 3 years old where I live. I always use luke warm water. I guess ill get a ph tester soon. and test my water and my medium PH

How much closer do you think I can lower the lights? I mean there already 4 inches away. And I don't quite understand the heat on the back of your hand thing I feel heat even when its 6 inches away but it isn't bad or anything. I just don't know how much heat on the back of my hand is no good. But this is a new grow. First one was a failure I over watered which Ive heard a lot of new growers do. Heres a Pic.
The first plant Germinated within 21 hours I was surprised. Now the second plant germinated awfully slow And I did not plant it as deep as the first one and now Its sprouted but the colyteons Are not open and the seed is still attached. But I did it for testing reasons.
I am looking for a bushy plant not to much space between the nodes but I know light can help achieve that.

You can lower the light a little more. It can be about 3 inches from the plant. It is a little warm and humid in there.

humidity is coming from the perlite at the bottom it will get lower as water runs out and the heat I cant really fix its hot here. but mk So I should lower it u think

Unless you get that pH under control, your going to have the same result. Most tap water is not anywhere near the correct Ph.
Next, Mushrooms and Cannabis are nothing alike. Don't compare growing the two.
Save your self a lot of trouble and go buy some Soil, Fox Farm Ocean Forest is Great or some other organic soil. Coco is not a beginner growing material and is not soil. You can still add all your mushroom growing ingredients to the soil.
Last, if it's already to hot, don't lower the lights until you can bring down the heat.
Good luck, Just some tips from one newb to another

Thnx for the info But I wont worry about the ph untill later I know I was over watering cause I watered them everyday those plants are now dead. It wasnt a ph issue And I will be getting a ph tester. But I am not worrying about that at the moment.
And I rather use coco also I used verm perlite some crushed oyster shell idk why But I thought it was be good to add to the mix.
An I am sure all the info I need is on here I don't have money for a book. And I never said coco was a soil Its a soiless medium. And I am always up for a challenge so Ima stick with coco. If I find it to hard like you say it might be Then Ill change to soil we will see what happens to this grow. Thanks tho.

pH is important from day one not later but if your just playing around with a grow then to each his own.
Depending on how much perlite and other things you put in you growing mix combined with the heat of your lights, you might have to water every day. I mixed half Ocean forest and half Perlite and had to water every two days for the first 2 weeks and every day for the 3rd week until I transplanted out of cups. My temp during these 3 weeks was 81.
Coco likes a low pH like 5.5 and if your tap water is anywhere near most in the high 7's or 8+ your going to end up in the same boat.

Muse is not trying to be a dick here, and he is right. You should grow in soil your first grow. I would have mentioned this earlier but did not realize that this was your grow and that you were very new to growing. You should not try growing in soilless mediums until you have a few grows under your belt. If you want to grow soilless you need to purchase a pH meter, a PPM meter, and a bunch of expensive nutrients. Just save yourself the trouble and buy a bag of soil and a bag of perlite.

Ohhh noo I know he isn't trying to be a dick hes giving me good info I understand That and i know he is right. just money is kind of tight right now I should say I am trying to do my best to finish a grow so I can learn The plant and everything around it(plant wise).
And dont you always need a Ph meter for any medium you use? I have plenty of perlite as you can see in the pics.
I do plan on getting some FN grow and bloom.
I got distilled water if that helps or is better then tap.
My plan was to get a Ph meter or any kind of Ph tester and Test the pH of my water and medium then go from there on lowering it or making it higher. I know there some Ph up and down around here somewhere.
And I only water my plants when they need it. Which is every 2 and a half to 3 days so far that ive noticed.
But we will see what happens in the next couple weeks. I always try to worry about things at the last min when I notice its a problem. If I see the first leaves dying in the next couple weeks then I am sure its a Ph problem and something should be done fast.

Well you got me there that isn't bad. But why should I use soil? Whats the big difference from the coco,vermiculite,perlite,oyster powder mix that I am using now? I need ferts for both. Both Need to be pH'ed. So tell meh!

So i got a ph tester from petsmart. And look  
The blue is obviously 7.6 or maybe a little higher that's tap water which I have been using. And the green is a 6.6 Ph maybe 6.5 from looking at the chart. So what should I do flush with the distilled water that's ph'ed at 6.6?

I'm willing to bet that blue color is 8+. I use that pH test kit as one of mine. Yes flush with distilled water. I would adjust the water to 6 or a little lower at least, but you might wait for a second opinion on that advise.

Also, the difference between soil and what your growing in, is soil has nutrients in it and what your growing in does not have much if any.
I know that coco coir has some nutrients in it but what and how much, I don't know.
It's not a hempy grow, but its damn close.
What is your soilless recipe percent wise?
Did you use worm castings for your mushies. That would help if you include that in your next recipe.
Does anyone know in a medium such as his when he should start applying ferts?
