okso im in about week 5 for my plant. i started with 2 but lightning burnt out my light bulb so i put them in a window for about a week till my new bulb came in. one plant shrivaled and died but the other is still thriving. i have the new bulb its a 400 hps in a 3ft by 5 ft grow tent. my plant doesnt seem to be growing as fast as some videos i have watched but i am patient :-) my question is how long do i keep the light on per day? ive heard 18 hrs 16 hrs 12 hrs which is it? what is the best amount of time per day to grow a healthy strong plant?

hi guy.. gl with this and i myself have tried with 2 plants 18/6 and 24/7 and they both grew great for vegetative growth... and u will use 12/12 for flowering these times are the recomended but when i started 2 months ago i reasurched it and some ppl do diffrent things its all in ur prefrence.. gl with your grow..... at 5 weeks is it showing preflowers yet? mine started to show at 32 days into growing..

ok so 18 on is what ill continue. im not too sure what to be looking for with my plant what stage it shud be at etc. im going to try and take some pics to put up so others can see and help me out but right now its about 5.5inches tall with 10 branches 6 branches are abt 3in long then the leaves while the other four branches are abt half an inch grown out. does that seem really slow for growth after 5 weeks?

a picture is worth a thousand words so... try to get a picture where the branches come off the main stem for early preflowers around the 4-5-6th node.

Yeah. If you have a camera take pics and people here will be helpful if your plant has a problem Also- post more details about your grow and maybe we could explain the slow growth or at least give you tips on how to accelerate it. 18 hours of light and 6 hours of dark is likely the most efficient light cycle- your plants cant process more than about 18 hours worth of light a day.

im having an issue with bugs in my tent. like lil fruit flies all up in my soil how can i limit or eliminate them without hurting my baby

ok i read alot abt nutes for your plants i have yet to use any just out of fear of messing up all my hard work. how hard is it to mix and whatnot? and what kind and where do i buy it so i can start giving it to my baby. the growth is so slow im 7 weeks in and only abt 6inches tall. beautiful 7 leaves tho and very full on top. im tryin to get my camera fixed so i can post pics for more accurate help. but whatever you can tell me to help me now is much appreciated

put up some fly paper traps and keep your grow area cleaner.

the grow area is clean its just the tent is out on my porch which is screened in idk how they got in there its an old house but they arent really flying around ive tried the fly paper but they stay just on the soil moving around not so much flying above it to get caught know what i mean. someone told me to put like a glass of wine or beer in there and they will go to that instead. idk if its true or not they werent too sure when they threw the idea out there. and i dont want to do anything that cud hurt my plants. pictures are on their way i just gotta upload and get them here now. shud be up in abt an hour. cant wait for the feed back

this is my plant at 7 weeks. why is it growing so slow and so short? its just bushy at the top. shouldnt i be able to tell what sex it is by now as well? any feed back please. i ahvent done any nutes i dont know whats best to use im looking for the simpliest way possible so i dont mess up my plant.

Not bad so far. I like your simplistic approach. Your instincts where correct though. The yellow coloration is an indication that you need nitrogen. Fertilize in your next watering and you should see explosive growth.

any advice on what type of nutes i should get to mix in for my next watering? im using miracle grow soil so shud i stick with a miacle grow product? or is there something better i should use?

ok so i got the miracle grow feed. how often do u give the nutes? do i just follow the bottle and only give it once every 2 weeks or is it different with weeds where you can give them more?

i would find some 1 who sells fox farm products and go from there.. i walked into my local hydro store and was picking up some rooting hormones and acted all stupid like about the whole thing and he was right on.. knew what i was growing.. i hear miracle grow is bad nute wise but all my plants where grown in there dirt cous its made regionally and ours has a lot of N like 18-5-9 some shit.. you would want a high N for veg and high P-K for flower..what is the N-P-K on that miracle grow?

i guess if u see any stress to stop using it and only use 1/2 strength.
do a feed,water,water,(water/feed if doing ok so far!!).
im sorry was that the N-P-K for the nues or dirt? i was wondering what ur dirt N-P-K?

have u had them from seeds under a hps? or metalhalide? i think a correct bulb in veg mode would work better?
but im not a growmaster and im not shure myself so what u think smoke?

i have spider mites multiplying rapidly how can i reduce them? i wipe down the leaves to get rid of any eggs but i have so many of them just crawling all over my soil. please help

yes i have had them from seeds. the newer ones ive planted one had taken off real good germinated real fast in two weeks it rapidly grew. the one i planted 4 days after it its taking off as quick. that seed didnt germinate as fast. but my first plant is growing very slowly i had issues with it where my bulb burnt out so it was in dark for a day and then in a window for a week till i got the new 400 hps bulb in. its healthy looks good just not growing tall. just bushy on top. i just started adding nutes yesturday so we will see what happens. picttures are above.

sorry man must not have seen the second page. So you have a bunch of nutes in the soil. Be careful watering with nute solutions as miracle grow has bad habits of releasing all the N in that soil at the wrong times. I would flush that soil regularly.

i use the soil myself and i let it get bone freakin dry befor i water..
i personally never had a problem with there soil its there nutes that burnt my plant after 1 watering..

so three days after adding the nutes huge improvements. my 2nd plant doubled in size and the 2 month old leaves started to bush out rather than down. im happy :-)

ok so i have spidermites all over the soil of my babies. i bought this stuff floramite sc to try and help the problem. it doesnt give very good how to instructions just how to mix. so im wondering how to go about applying this to my plants to just kill the mites and not my babies. any suggestions or methods that have worked.

ok so here is a lil compare and contrast this was my slow growing baby at 7 weeks and this is her at 10 weeks big difference ;-) Im pretty sure its a female but id really like to know what you see and think. i wud like to start cloning soon just want to double check and make sure i have girls first. so this is one and i will do the other two next

ok this was my 2nd baby at 1.5 weeks and now at 34 days any ideas on what sex it is? i think its female no balls anywhere just pistils at least i think thats what they are. please feed back and ur best guess on sex
