How do you expect to grow weed when you don't even know what a plant is.

Okay, lets break down your post shall we.

Quote:

If you never get fed any nutrients, do you die? Treat weed as any other biological organism, not as a magical unicorn.

Quote:

or what about in hydroponics how long can a mj plant live with no nutes?

Not nearly as long as you can. Having no nutrients in a hydroponic system kind of defeats the whole purpose of said system.

He did not specify if these are in the ground, or in pots, What was contained in said soil, how old they are, or when they were last transplanted.

He's just asking asinine questions while being ambiguous as possible.

oh i know but regardless soil has nutrients in it

i was hoping he would get the rest by himself, but in case you dont...

there are soil mixes

and soilless mixes

soiless is like growing hydro where you need to add nutes and you have a very strict control over the feed schedule

soil contains nutes...usually or sometimes(the ones i choose) usually will contain enough nutes to get through the
veg and of course you may have to give someeeeeeee nutes in to flowering

i mean that question is just.........too vague?

yeah im asking hypothetical questions
does anybdy know how long  a soil plant can live in a 5 gallon bucket with soiless soil.
or how long  a soil plant can live in a 5 gallon bucket with perfectly amened soil

also how long can i plant live in hydroponics no nutes? DungenessDank says not as long as a human with no nutes. but i know for a fact a mj plant from seed will live for over a month with only water.
if the question was that vague you shod have given me answer like 1 week to 8 months or something like that

This should be big enough for roots to grow in for about 3-4 months

Quote:

or how long  a soil plant can live in a 5 gallon bucket with perfectly amened soil

It should have enough room for 3-4 months growth, however in an isolated bucket the plants may need addition fertilization for prolonged vegging and the last half of flowering.

Quote:

but i know for a fact a mj plant from seed will live for over a month with only water.

Perhaps if its getting nitrogen from the soil. It is not living on its own, unless it is lacking some light.

Everyone chill the fuck out.  If you don't have anything constructive to say then DON'T!  That's why we have the dome.  take it and keep it there.

Different strains have different requirements some of those independent characteristics are vastly different from one strain to the next.  So it's hard to bottle up a simple answer for you.  If you are just curious (and i doubt that's the case) then just set up some experiments.  Cannabis needs much more than just water to grow.  That's why we add nutes to our hydro systems.  I don't think i am telling you anything you dont already know though.

Yah, everyone needs to step back for a bit and chill out.  IMO he asked some valid questions.

Quote:

If you're talking about perpetual veg, a long long time.  Hell, my LA mom has been in a two gallon bucket for 3 months with no problems yet.  Flowering would be no problem either, the plant would live very happily the entire cycle.

Keep in mind if you're using a 5 gallon bucket you'll need to use a plant that requires something that size.  Otherwise you'll just be wasting nutes, water, medium, and possibly causing problems with your plant

Quote:

or how long  a soil plant can live in a 5 gallon bucket with perfectly amened soil

Same as above, but this time since you're relying on the nutes in the soil you have up until there is not enough food to support the plant.  Then the plant will begin to feed on itself and eventually die.  People have gone flowering cycles just using plain water because they amend their soils, so that's definitely possible.  I honestly don't think I could tell you how long they would last in veg.

Quote:

also how long can i plant live in hydroponics no nutes? DungenessDank says not as long as a human with no nutes. but i know for a fact a mj plant from seed will live for over a month with only water.

Not very long.  Hydroponics relies on nutrients mixed in with the water.  If you don't give them the food, they have no way to eat, and therefore wouldn't survive too long.  Unless you enjoy watching your plants die, this is not a good idea.

marijuana is a "weed" technically but it is also a flower. Yes, It will grow without nutes however, your yeild and potency will greatly decrease. So if you want a very nice flower you have to use nutes.
