hi all, im new here and am constructing my first carbon scrubber.i have a couple questions.. 1# is about the poly fill batting used. it comes in 3 different thickness... do i want to use the light, the medium or the heavy weight? and question #2 is can i use fiberglass screening as a prefilter under the nylon stocking and under the polyfill? thanks in advance for any help
When I made my carbon scrubber I used the poly fill that was fluffy and packed it down. I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference since it's just there to keep the carbon out of your fan, the medium or heavy weight would probably be best though.
By fiberglass screening do you mean the fiberglass mat you use for making fiberglass repairs to boats and things? I would put the prefilter over the pantyhose on the outer cylinder. I would use a light, airy material for my prefilter because you don't want it to add much if any resistance to the air flow and make your fan work harder than it needs to.
