hey i got a question? one of my babys has had a purple stem cence it came above. growing it real nice. none of the other has 1. it was off my baggseed. any body that knows what it may be is nice.

ty that's what i was thinking and im still a noob to the site. im a avid planter first time grower kinda. yea if it wasn't getting new growth i was gona be worried cous i herd cold and root rot is a cause of the purple stem. ty for the response.

They show purple stems when it gets too cold At nigt and it's also an early sign of nitrogen deficiency, they also tend to Do it near flowering aswell, it can also be genetic of course though, so unless your leaves start yellowing then I wouldn't worry about it, maybe check temps if it's an indoor grow, if outdoors don't stress

yea i have read all that and if it did not have that purple stem cence it came out of the dirt id worry. im thinking it is genetics cos it is growing very nice no leaf discoloration with new growth. i have also read somewhere that new growth is slowed by deficiencies. also inbred i have 3 other plants going and none of them have purple stems or signs of them.. temp stays at like 78 during the day and it get a lil colder at night. thay dont seem to mind that i switched them to 24\0 cous it was getting cold in my basement and i needed the lights to keep the temp up.. wish i had a camera to show =(
hopefully its purple stickey punch ha ha lol

well its still growing slowed for a min now its kinda growin again.. still is purple but all the nwe growth stems are green.. i kinda could use the space for one of the other plants im growing... should i keep it and love it or kill it and allocade the space to the others??

an update to the stem... still purple... the only thing this thing is growing is fans no shoots.... i think its a male.... soo... im trying some different methods on it. i cut the bottom leaves left the top two 5 leafs. and i tried a topping thing i saw somewhere... it has strong roots system so we will see what happens..

How old is your plant?? What's your intention or goal by trimming off the lower leaves??

i got 2 other plants that are the same age about 15 or so days.. the other 2 have more side growth than it and all it is growing is fan leaves.. i need the space too cous im bout to transplant the 2 into there final pots.. survival of the fittest.. the trimming is an experiment.
