What you need to do is look on your electric bill and see how much they are charging you per kWh. Then see how many kWh's 400 watts takes up in 12 hours. Then multiply that by how much they charge per kWh.

I looked on my electric companys site that said a water bed heater is 400 watts ran at 300 hours a month would be 9 dollars. So I figure it should be around 11.
so, using $.07 as a baseline for your kWh charge, your 400 watter will run about 10 bucks every month. Check your electric bill to see how much you're being charger per kWh and substitute it to find out exactly how much you'll be charged.
