hobby grow

i'm planning on growing just one plant in soil.  its not something i'm going to try and push chronic out of, just kind of let it grow.  however, i'm wondering if i leave it by a window that gets indirect sunlight, will it still thrive or is it going to struggle to be on proper lighting cycles and be able to make food for itself.

It will more than likely struggle.  I mean if you really don't care what you get out of it, then sure it can work.  But you wont get much out of it.

I wouldn't think you would get much out of it at all.  I'd say you should at least add a couple cfls to it.  Just dont put it under an incandescent bulb.

cfls, really?  i know better than to put it under a incandescent, but that also grouped in lights like that.  any certain wattage or lighting spectrum?

Yeah, it'll survive out there with that kind of light but I wouldn't expect much smokeable material off it.  I recommended cfl's as a step up.  Ive never grown under them myself.  If you had the money to spend Id recommend an HID system and say screw the indirect light.  the buds really need some intense lighting (among other factors) to bulk up on size and density.
