So, I currently am investigating my house to find a spot for a discreet personal situation. If all else fails I'll buy a small collapsable tent from a hydro store. I found one closet that is probably the most privacy in my place, but there is a gas meter in there. I'm not too concerned with the gas company cause they don't need to come inside to read it, more so the lights and heat affecting it, I only plan on growing with cfl's and 400w hps at very most. I have enough room in the closet while keeping a few feet from said meter to frame a box that's 18in deep 36in wide and about 32in tall. Is this worth it? Anyone have experience with something like this? I'm reluctant to post a picture, but will if I absolutely have to. Thanks a lot!
P.S. I'm my own landlord.

Sounds pretty legit if it'll be inside a box, I'd wait and see what some of the vets say, if they say anything.

That sounds totally fine man, as long as you have a separation between the back wall (assuming the location here, correct me if i'm wrong) and the meter. A 400 wouldn't really be ideal in that small of a space. I'd say get a 150 + CFL's or just a 250. I am using a similar volume box and it seems a bit small but you can grow quite a bit more than it seems in such a space.
The gas company would only check the meter on the outside, and if you are your own landlord, I'd say you are in the clear to get started. I would give yourself more depth... Say something like 24". As long as there is 12-16" for the meter and some space then I'd say you are good to go.
I want to see pics of the build if possible.
