Orange Kali CFL/MH Grow (Updated weekly w/ pics) UPDATE 4/01 FLOWERING

I Currently have two beauties growing. One Orange Kali, and a Juicy fruit. You can clearly tell the difference (ie. sativa vs Indica)
There about 2 weeks old (Not including first week of germination and Sprouting). They are on a light schedule of 18/6 and I have them under 4 30w(=100w), 6500k, 120v, daylight cfl's. Im pretty sure each bulb is putting out only about 3000 lumens but im not sure. But there Bright as fuck. Plan on getting 2 more 3500k or lower for budding? idk. Anyways, they are in Fox Farm Ocean spray soil. No nutes or chems of any kind. Plan on gettin Big bloom/tiger bloom or some other FF products. So yeah. Here they are. Ill update weekly. Also, pics are taken from camera phone. I lent out my camera and need to get it back :/ Tell me if anything looks out of the ordinary or anything. INPUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. mmmmk. Enjoi.

UPDATE: 12/26
Just an update. Haven't changed anything except ive started to
give them some CO₂. They look like its helped alot. The
2 top sets of leaves already have 7 leaves. So do the ones Poppin
on out. Maybe they'll have 9!!. ha and

UPDATE 1/10

I got a 600w HPS bulb, fixture, ballast, power supply,
and Exhaust fan all for free from Someone Great! :thumbup:

Umm Nothing that new besides that. trimmed some fan leaves that were just
way to big. Im wanting to promote a good amount of node growth this way? idk we'll see. It seems to be working. i topped my OK as shown.

UPDATE 1/31

FIRST DAY OF FLOWERING.
In order to run the HPS ive aquired
awhile back i would have had to get
new reflector. One that would fit in
my grow space, and since the current
hood that came with it is 3ft long
i cannot run it :shrug:

But Ive gotten these to do the job:

As you can tell there are some big CFL's.
The Smallest is a reagular 26w. Im not using THIS one, just
threw it in for comparison. I will be running 3 of the next largest ones
in the picture (42w i believe, i think = 150w) and one big momma CFL 300w.
All of these ones are 2700k bulbs.
Also i will be throwing in two 30w 6500k daylight cfls just for the hell of it.

Time for pictures of the plants and grow space. Its been updated a little :awesome:

I hope you are in 12/12 because it's going to be hard to cover those big plants once they stretch unless you have 25 CFL's...

You might want to think about setting up some sort of makeshift screen, or tie them down. It will make much more use of your limited penetration from CFL's. The thing I do like specifically about CFL's is how you can use them as side lighting w/ an HPS, because really, with any heavy indica much of the plant is shaded from the large wide leaves from the canopy.

You can position the fluoro parallel to the plant. I usually just hang mine from the cord held by the ceiling.

ooh and two other things I just noticed from your pictures;

-very nice guitar! :borat:

-stop cutting off the fan leaves from the Juicy Fruit! if you feel the need to prune so the side branches grow then completely cut the top growth point off. you won't leave it looking so tall and pointy, and it will actually signal the lower branches to grow via enzymes produced in the plant, rather than just from light. much better way to go IMO

if you have some money to invest you could get a cool tube. they're very small as far as reflectors go and your plants would LOVE an HID in there :grin:

Yes the one ive been looking at my local Hydro store is
about 100$ . Should have that within the week.
Ive reeeeally looking into these
cool tubes because I know how
quick it would bring up the output of
my garden!!

BUT! I actually am in the possession of
a 250w MV or MH Id have to check
, But its the perfect size fixture with
an internal ballast. The only reason i
havent mentioned it is because im under
the impression that it cant be used for
Flowering??? It puts out about roughly
20,000 lumens, is a GE and im not sure of
its CCT. I would have to GUESS somewhere around
the 3k-5k range :shrug:

I have no specifics on the
bulb for it was given to me. All i know is the type, Wattage
and brand. All other info is just what ive deduced from my
understanding of bulbs

Ha no but the person that gave me the lights
had mentioned that too me so i just took it
as it was. I figured it wasn't beneficial during the
flowering stage or something? Idk. But shiiiiiiiit

Serious shit. Now that i have this light, What would
You guys recommend i do with the CFL's?
I have a # of both 65k and 27k CFL's. Obviously
throw some in but like what would be a perfect mix,
more 27k then 65k (or other way around), all of one
spectrum, equal amount?
Would it even make a difference?

for vegging more 6500K, and for flowering more towards the 2500K side of the world

I fear that the OK is going through somewhat of a sulfur deficiency, but im not really sure on how to tell,
other then the new growth being a kiiiinda pale lightish green.

If i were to start giving her some sulfur, gradually increasing if no
change, would there be any negative consequence of TOO MUCH sulfur if thats not what the problem is?

UPDATE 2/13

So i went ahead and put up the MV or MH light i have.
I just put it up today so no results regarding that. But the
MH seems to be somewhat of a blue spectrum, maybe higher then
5k? Idk it looks alot like the daylight CFL's did, the brighter almost blue
light. Idk, see for your self.
Theres some pics with just the MH running so you can see what i mean, then
some finals pics of the grow space after i added some 27k CFl's.
The first umm some what "bud pic" is of the JF. The next two are of the OK.
Its weird because the OK is showing more hairs in general but the JF budsites are just poppin
off. Oh and JF is a girl tooo!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE 3/1

Havent been on in while. Went through alot, a hermies and
my light fell and almost took
out my beauty (note to self: use thicker chains for light) and just lots of
gay shit. Umm luckily the OK was NOT
a male or hermies or anything close, shes a nice pretty little girl and here are some pics!
This is a shitty update but ive beeen suuuuuuuuuuper busy so its the best i can do

and sooome of the hairs are turning orange!!
also she is smelling fuckin DAAAANK.
Im going to start to mix molasses with her
water to increase flavor/smell. At least thats

About 3/4 of the hairs are orange now. and i cant really
remember if trichs go from clear to cloudy or the other
way but there mostly cloudy. Still about 40-30% clear though.
What you guys think??

Yea they go from clear to cloudy to amber.
It's like it's very close to harvest. Wait until you have they most cloudy for the best high. In a week or less I assume it'll finish up and you'll have some clear and amber trichs, but mostly cloudy. Then it'll be time to chop. Looking great.
