So my ZOB Mini Perc had an accident today
The bong tipped forward from the lightest nudge and the base broke
luckily the part of the tube that matters is still fine
and all of the accessories that were on the bong are still OK
But damn  Im pissed
Luckily I found a few 7mm Illadelph tubes for a good price, I should be picking one up soon

What pisses me off is I was going to use it till halloween (one year from when I got it), then retire it from daily use and get an illadelph

After getting really high I realized I can cleanly break off the rest of the base of my bong and that makes it fit into my super secret stash in my car 
Maybe this wasnt such a bad thing after all
Tomorrow ill be hitting up the headshop, My local place has some cool brands of tubes that I have never seen for sale anywhere else that are all 5-9mm thick under $150 (for say a 18" 7mm beaker)

and I actually decided on something a little nicer...

Yeah the zob still hits fine, just like 3/4 of the base broke off
I dont want to sell it now but when the new bong comes in id probably let it go for like $100 or so  or a trade 
And Illy has some nicer tubes for sure but not for the price, a 9mm illy tube wouldnt sell for $200

You know you could get it fixed for like $30 or $50 or so. Bases are like the very cheapest and easiest fix for a blower to do.

There's always Preston from SGW he does a lot of repairs for fmb members but I think he stays pretty busy and you might have a bit of a wait. And there's also Kind Creations say's $50 for a foot repair right on their site.
I think joining up at the melting pot (talkglass.com) and finding an aspiring blower would be a good idea as well. A lot of blowers enjoy doing repairs for the easy practice and you'll find more of them in that community than anywhere else. They should also be more reasonable with prices as well.

definitely. way better.
one of the big noticeable differences is they make bigger joints. they also using bushing downstems 18-14 (usually comes standard on their pieces however they offer 18-18 downstems now). i'd pick a US Tubes over an Illadelph any day. a US Tubes will be my next one for sure, a 9mm with the thicker joint. (think 32mm) i'd get the 18-18 downstem though cause everything i have is 18mm right now.
bitfreakglass has a bunch of US Tubes and accessories, they make inline ashcatchers now too.

also beakers are stretched glass usually... US tubes are about the only company who doesn't really stretch their glass, they just use more glass so it remains the same thickness throughout the glass. illadelph just stretches it.
go tap on a beaker and then tap the tube near the mouth and you'll notice a difference.

Well im buying the US tube now, I had to pass on the fro diffy and slide cause all this glass was getting too expensive
but I will be selling my Alex K showerhead diffy and one of my bowls soon to make up for some of the money
