Anyone know a good place to buy glass online? I want a bong that is cheap. Not really looking for a name brand just something that is really functional. If I don't spend a shit ton on the bong itself I can trick it out later with an ash catcher and good bowls etc. Any recommendations?

I mean seriously not all of it is shitty and you're not exactly getting ripped off when you're paying a fraction of the price.
Yeah it's better to keep our money in our own economy but if you're going to boycott everything made in china then you might as well get rid of your computers and televisions and just about everything else in your home while you're at it.
yes american glass is undoubtedly better quality but it's also like 4x as expensive and some people don't mind the bang for the buck from china

Most china glass websites ive seen will charge $200 easily for a shitty single perc bong
and then the glass is like 2mm thick if your lucky, ive broken countless china bowls in ways they never should have broken
I mean I still buy it every once in a while, I just dont expect it to last long, someones first nice bong purchase should last forever

in that case you could probably get a no brand inline tube, those are sick, and usually ~ $150 - 250

gorillaglass sells chinese perc'd tubes for like $90 or so. they have a 12 item and $150 order minimum though because they're trying to remain a wholesale vendor. you can just get like a bong and a a box of papers or something for the 12 item minimum though.
best bet is really going to be the fullmelt glass market for a really good quality and still affordable piece but all of these links are going to have something in that range

Thanks for the help. I think ima just go with some local head shop. They seem to have similar deals to any of these websites. I never appreciated the head shops on Haight St. or Telegraph Ave until I moved here and the stores are more expensive. Oh well.

you're lucky you have headshops. no one in my area sells bongs... it's illegal or some shit. i used to think my headshops in my college town were overpriced and a rip but at least they were there... they at least had PHX and illadelph... i miss it now

Most headshops around here don't have good brands, just chap shit. But 2 of them do (one of them is right by campus and totally a rip off). I think if I am going to buy a sub-par quality piece it will be good to see it first to make sure it is not totally crooked or fucked up or whatever. I could also get them to give me a discount on some cool stuff to trick it out.

Yeah I don't know if you checked herb import or whatever but they are expensive as fuck. one of these girls i see blows pipes but she doesn't have a lathe to do bongs anymore otherwise i'd get you the hookup.

What is a lathe? Can she make slides? I have not really looked at prices there, but there is a store called Hippie Gypsy on Canal that carries a bunch of high end glass. I think I'll look there first.

i would recommend this guy Andy. Andrew Jackson Pollock; I don't know if he is around anymore, I used to have his business card, but he did really good work and was one of the most well known blowers around the city.
upon further research it looks like he doesn't even do pipes any more, still some awesome glasswork though. i met him at tips some years ago and he smoked me out on some nice hash.
