Psilocybin Mushroom spores are legal to possess in every state except California, Georgia, and Idaho........and why dont you go through the Growery/shroomery sponsors to get some spores...

i recommend buying from either ralphsters or hawkseye

im going to be innoc' with some Treasure Coast here this week with some spores from Hawkseye

Depending on how soon you were wanting to start, I could send some prints your way once I get some fruit bodies

what are your plans for growing? PF tek or what?

first time growing I would definitely stick with PF tek, get yourself a dozen 1/2 pint jars and just get familiar with the process and the life cycle of growing mushrooms

PF tek is very n00b friendly

no problem. and if you have any questions at all, feel free to post them. I will help you out as much as I can. Ive been at this for quite awhile so I can help you avoid n00b mistakes and maybe provide you with a bit more information than the basic tek

anyways, best of luck to you. I am just waiting for my jars to cool down, hopefully I can innoc tonight, if not it will have to wait til tomorrow.

with cakes, which is what you'll be likely starting with. the whole process should take about 6-8 weeks to complete, with some variables

now these tubs I am working with will take me 8-10 weeks but the extra time is worth it

WBS spawned to Coir and then cased with vermiculite. All thrown into a 114qt monotub.

it can be. but it can be pretty labor-intensive and time consuming as well. I actually just finished taking a 2 year break from growing, I got burnt out after doing it for 6 months.

uh no. you are constantly preparing spawn, substrate, and casing layers. Pressure cooking and pasteurizing. Making a mess and cleaning up

Im sure once you get a method down that you like, that gives you the results you want, you will be able to speed things up a bit. But that can really take some time to find out

cakes suck but it's a good beginners stage. It gets you familiar with how to do a clean inoculation, how long certain stages take, what to look for, and basically tests your procedure. I would much rather fuck up a couple cakes and lose them rather than fuck up a tub and be out all the supplies and have 0 mushrooms.

tubs are much more risky. especially when you throw in someone who doesnt know what they are doing.

dont get cocky. just because you got your jars to start colonizing doesnt mean you are going to pull off the monotub.

I just wouldnt advise a beginner to put all their eggs in 1 basket. You risk losing everything.

Was a monotub the first thing you did? No. So I wouldnt recommend it to other people.

And I hope you do plan on casing yours. I noticed that asshole LightShredder told you not to, but that is retarded. Even if you just do a 1/4 inch layer of verm casing, you should at least case. Keeps moisture better and keeps contams out.

Not hard but If you fuck up, you just lost your entire grow. Instead of losing 1 or 2 cakes to contam and just pitching them out and still being able to harvest the rest of the cakes.

I dont really care about all that. Ive been at this quite a long time, so if he takes my advice or not I could really care less. I just saw the thread and figured I would try to help out

If he wants to follow your tek, then great. I hope he has success. But my advice is to at least give PF tek a try first

I dont have a tek man, I'm just saying PF is just a waste of time. And if he wants a lot he would waste more time on cakes than if he spawned to coir and cased. But yes if he's not lookin for a lot of shroomies then PF is the way to go.

and I know that isnt a picture of your monotub results since your thread said this was the first monotub you have ever tried.

First get some canning jars and punch one hole in the center of the jar lid with a hammer and a screw driver.

Stuff the hole with poly-fil you can find it at walmart (the fluffy stuff not the sheets)

Next I would get some Wild Bird Seed or some rye berries.

After you get them what I do with my wild bird seed is I rinse it out till the water runs clear.

Pick out all the black sunflower seeds (they float).

Then put it in a container and let it soak for 12 hrs.

Once it has soaked for 12 hours I simmer the seed in water below boiling for 45-60 mins or until I start seeing burst seeds.

After that I rinse them again to get them to cool down.

Then let them dry for about an hour in the strainer. (put a plate on top so the top seeds dont dry out to much) The seed will still be wet on the inside.

Then I load my jars 3/4's of the way up with WBS (wild bird seed).

Cover the lids with tin foil so water cant drip into the jars and fill the pressure cooker about 3 inches with water.

Pressure cook them @ 15 PSI for an hour to an hour in a half. *this is your spawn*

Let the pressure cooker cool overnight (dont release the pressure it will do it on its own).

After you do this you will now be ready for innoculation.

Take your jars out of your pressure cooker.

Take your spore syringe and wipe the needle with alcohol and flame sterilize it with a lighter.

Take tinfoil off.

Insert the needle into the jar hole through the poly fil and squirt about 2-4 CC's of spore/water into your jar.

After you are done with all of them put them in a warm place and wait for them to colonize. *I put mine on top of my fridge*

After they are about 20% colonized shake them by banging them up against the arm of your sofa *nothing hard* This distributes the mycelium and also makes sure you dont have any contams. If you do have contams after shaking you will know.

After they are 100% colonized they are ready to spawn to coir. Once you get to that point tell me and I will continue.

Im hoping to see some life in these jars by Friday

After this grow I am completely done working with canning jars. Moving on to autoclave bags. Much more efficient and disposable.

And also you didnt read again when you said the shroomery was full of them. I was responding to siek he said the main site. And I said I dont think they have one on the main site. I said nothing about the forums. You are really starting to piss me off. And that is hard to do.

What are you talking about? The main site is filled with teks, just like I said.

https://www.shroomery.org/4/Grow-Mushrooms

And just over 1 month ago in your own tek you admit to never having completed a monotub before. I was just reading the link in your signature

You sir are retarded I never said I have done a monotub before. How much more clear do I have to be? Point out where I have said that I have done a monotub grow before. You keep pointing out what I have said multiple times in this thread.

No I responded to when you posted a picture of monotub results since it appeared you were attempting to pass them off as being your own pictures.

www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/273182#273182

It really doesnt matter. He will do his research and follow whichever method he feels most comfortable with. It's pointless to fill his thread with bickering over who said what.

No dont get that confused with mine I was comparing the two. As I said earlier I have never done the PF tek either. So neither one of those pics are mine. I was showing the difference.

We both know that taking 2 random pictures of how they turned out is bogus though. There are wayyy to many variables to compare. were the cakes dunk and rolled, what was used as the bulk substrate of the monotub, was it cased? what were the respective humidity readings, fresh air exchange, lighting ect. ect ect. You took about the worst PF tek picture and compared it to one of the better monotub flushes.

It's whatever though, it was a misunderstanding. I will definitely agree monotubs are wayy better. You just have to admit it's a much riskier method, especially for someone just starting.

Im anxious to see how your tubs turn out though :yesnod:

:highfive: yes I agree monotubs are more risky with contams and whatnot. I am anxious too hopefully by next monday I will have some shrooms unless I case.....Still debating it. But Since its my first mono and a multispore I am being pesamistic.
