Soil Growers: 1. Grown from seed 2. Plants are 3 weeks old 3. Plants are 3" tall 4. guessing 1/4 gal containers 5. I am using happy frog soil 6. I use tap water every two days 7. unknown(dont have money for a kit yet .) 8. no fertilizer 9. no sprays 10. 4' 4light T5 floro 11. light is 1' away from plants 12. grow tent is 36" X 20" X 64" 13. temp stays at about 75-80F 14. unknown soil ph 15. no noticeable insects 16. this is my first grow
I went to check on my plants today and one is very wilted and two have e few crispy brown leaves. they were totally fine before, this came on very fast. there are 5 plants, 3 show signs of this problem and 2 are looking great.
the only thing that makes me think the light wasn't too close is because the other plants were ok but maybe they were just more resistant to it. signs seam to point toward the light to close.

Some tap water has a very high or low ph, if your in the middle of a large city you might, and I say keep the light 2 inches away from your plants at least, but that's just me (read somewhere that was a good distance). But I have no idea though, never heard of trouble 3 weeks into it.

Could be a Phosphorous or a Potassium def, could be the opposite; a toxicity or "nute burn"...but without pictures and a knowledge of the pH it can't be diagnosed. If you have a deficiency b/c of a pH problem you have to fix pH before you can fix the deficiency.

in your post in the main grow forums you mentioned you were watering them every two days? If this is the case, and your medium hasn't had enough time to dry out, you're literally drowning your plants. Excessive watering with poor drainage in your soil can also lead to root rot which is pretty much death for your plants.
If you're having trouble figuring out when to water, there's always the easy method of the lift test. Fill a container with dry soil (obviously the same size container and soil you're using in your grows). Then lift it up to feel how heavy it is with no water. Then water the pot until you get a little run off coming out the bottom. Lift the pot again to feel how heavy it is. Now that you know what it feels like with no water, and what it feels like completely watered, use that knowledge to lift test the containers with your plants. When the containers are as light as the dry container you know it's time to water again.
