What about Coffee?
    #261766 - 08/08/09 05:56 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Someone told me that if you use a little bit of used coffee grounds, that it'll raise the level of nitrogen & carbon in the soil, and it'll keep it a little more moist.
Has anyone done this technique?
Have you used this method?

I voted yes because I have heard dozens of people tell me that they used coffee in their plants (of all sorts) with nothing but positive results and I have seen plants grown in nothing but coffee grounds and thats pretty impressive

Coffee grounds provide plants with many nutrients including magnesium, calcium and nitrogen. But grounds can also add a significant amount of acidity to the soil as well!

 Composted coffee grounds don't affect pH as much, but yeah, if you're adding them to the mix make sure they are spent, rinsed, and that you balance the pH if necessary.
