Ha ha yea some of them did....but the majority of them are good. Stupid USPS setting heavy things on them. I dont know what they do to them but it takes a lot of pressure to crush a seed.

Damn oh well at least there was extra haha and they should have a very good germ rate. Of like 50 0f them that I germed this year 48 of them popped and grew with vigerous growth. The lr#2 take a little bit more time to pop but they usually do a few days later. probably quicker if you very carefully crack the edge of the shell with finger nail clippers.

Hmmm fingernail clipper you say.... Might have to try that. Im gonna put them in some jiffy pellets after they pop. Then off to fox farm! Haha instead of stupid miracle grow.

I have had great luck with just putting them straight into jiffy pellets. this way you dont risk damaging the tap roots while planting them.

Haha sorry, dont mean to tell ya what to do. Just wanted to give what little advice I have on the two strains. I'll probably just sit back and enjoy the show now. I just got mine under 400 watt so hopefully they will be doing better. They stretched out a bit to 5 inches cause I didn't get them under lighting quickly enough. Hopefully they will get thicker stems quickly. I'll start a grow log on the bbxths and lr#2 in a few days also.

I absolutely love my digital 400 watt switchable ballast. Just screw in a HPS or Metal Hallide and plug it in.

For the money its not really worth it to spend money on cfl or the t5's, just spend the little extra for at least a 400 watt. I get my stuff from HTG supply and they always take care of me if I have a problem.

This is the one I have http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=45667
I also have the euro reflector that has the inline fan ability and glass, and also a batwing reflector thats never been used so If you get a HID system and need a reflector I can send you that one if you want to pay shipping. Its not heavy at all.

They got really stretchy and some are falling over but I'm hoping the light will fix that soon. Just barely found it while unpacking.

yeah on 120V you can just plug it into the wall (in a grounded outlet).....and yeah id go with a 400watt digital switchable ballast because the wattage is pretty cheap yet it does a great job....it seems the best deal for what it is.....and you can also use a MH or an HPS bulb in it which is good because the spectrum from a metal halide lamp is best for vegetative growth and the spectrum from a high pressure sodium bulb best fits the needs for the flowering cycle so you can just switch the bulb type as needed to best fit the needs for that growth stage in the plants life for fast nice growth....

I posted a link to it, Its only $169 and to make it so I dont more energy with it I just dont use much electricity like I normally would. I now have a gas stove and gas water heater. I take showers and baths with lights off, Lately I havnt been using the ac, just been using a fan in the window with a highly reflective foam sheet in the rest of the window to reflect light and heat back out. Plus its only 400 watt so not like it adds on much to the electric bill anyways.

I have a 30x jewelers loupe that I got on ebay for like 7 bucks from china. I just wait till I no longer see clear trichomes and start seeing amber ones and then harvest. Most people wait till half and half amber and cloudy though.

You can see them closer to the female hairs.

Again you can see them as bumps closer to the center of the plant.

The pistils are still very much alive, when you get closer to harvest they should be dying off and turning a darker color. anywhere from red orange to brown. But just because they do that doesnt mean its time to harvest cause Ive gone through multiple sets of pistils before harvesting before.

Have you been using different type of nutrients for flowering than you were when it was vegging? Id personally also try a 11:13 light schedule but others might tell you differently. also definitely balance the ph.

I have used miracle grow in the past with decent results. The organic miracle grow is another story though. Seems like every single time I use organic miracle grow I get the worse cases of spider mites ever! But when I use normal compost/potting soil I get none.

I MYSELF have used miracle grow succefully....but when i did i have encountered some deficiency problems later on......i dont mind vegging for a little while with miracle grow.....but i also did read that MG can be a cancerous product if using on herbs for smoking (even if flushed properly)....i dunno how true that is but i seen it on bbc news a few months ago....

Yo, I will be the first one to admit that I dont know how to grow perfectly. But this is what the forums are for man, so chill out about it. As you can see I never said that it was the miracle grow, I said "either they are slower growers or I must be doing something wrong". Plus just because you are getting good results from using miracle grow does not mean that everyone who uses it will. It depends on a bunch of variables, PH, Lighting, Temperature, Nutes, and other things I am sure I am missing. So what I am saying is just because you get "great" results using miracle grow that doesnt mean it can be duplicated at everyones home because most likely they do not have the same supplies as you.

i swear its the miracle grow and lack of good ph balancing....

I'm sick of people blaming their lack of skills on MG... I use miracle grow and I have always had great grows/harvests... Find another scapegoat to take the fall for you... Not being an ass but seriously...

Wow you guys took all this the wrong way... Haha

Please don't think I was saying you had a lack of skills! I read that again and I know that's what it seemed like I was saying...

I just think that many people out there that use MG are novices and are just getting started and there are other shortcomings in their techniques that may get blamed on poor soil... I'm just trying to say if you do the other stuff right then the soil shouldn't be the only culprit...

I know it depends on those variables!  I said nothing about PH...

My PH is 8.4 and I really don't see it affecting my plants...  Yeah MG is bad for seedlings because it has time release ferts built in but once they are vegging heavily they are going to need those nutes...  I'm one of the most mellow and chill characters around so I really don't like it when someone tells me to chill out... I hear about MG being soooo bad from everyone and you just happened to be the one I responded to and for that I apologize.  I respect everyone on here that has the balls to learn how to grow correctly and ask for help from complete strangers...  I may only be 23 but I have been growing for 8 years and grew up around greenhouses and large scale gardens since I was born.  (my mom managed one) So I tend to have a natural green-thumb.

I'm fucking broke and barely have any of the materials that I would choose to use for a grow but you learn to do the best with what you have... That's what makes you a versatile gardener!  Cuz' once you do have the materials of your choice things are going to go so smooth!

I'm sorry for you guys misinterpreting my words... I was probably crabby and just said the first thing that came to mind...

Ha ha sorry for takin what you said wrong man. Some people on this site really just seem to like to bitch other people out for no reason, although I made the mistake of judging you ha ha sorry dude. But hey man you got any suggestions one broke person to another? cuz I am seriously broke like no joking I hardly have any money I think I have a total of 3 dollars. And you said your PH was 8.6.....That is like exactly what mine is before I let it sit out overnight. Do you have any idea what is wrong with my plant or why it isnt growing as fast as it should be? You say you use miracle grow and I would love it if you could give me some pointers cuz no one else seems to use it except me and you haha. Any advice at all would be helpful. Sorry for telling you to chill out man.

I don't wanna go through your many pages of journal right now because i'm busy, I have skimmed most of it but I'm high and don't remember - What type of flouro's are you using and how many and the wattages and color temp would be helpful as I see the slow growth as a problem caused by your lighting... Other than that I would say you're plant actually looks quite good and healthy.  I don't even have 3 bucks man I don't have a job right now and am relying on what I managed to acquire for free.  Can you tell me exactly what nutes you are using?  It looks nice and dark green so I would think you are good but you might wanna get some blooming ferts. even a little MG would work just use it sparingly... Sit at a gas station/mall for a couple hours and ask people for a couple bucks, you could easily get 30 bucks or more...haha I have done it. It's better than stealing!  I would really recommend getting 2 more CFL's man, it's pretty much the only thing that will fatten up those buds faster in my honest opinion... I'm completely broke and managed to get a 175w MH and a bulb for it, with no money :/ Hit me back anytime or PM me because i'm on this site all day every day...

Happy Growin'!  :ganja::potleaf::ganja::potleaf::ganja::potleaf::ganja::potleaf::ganja::potleaf:

Ya man I hear you on the whole broke thing....I dont have a job either and then I get all these people telling me that I need to get all these special lights and soils and shit haha I cant even afford food. I'm not really the begging type although it does sound fun haha. So for 30 bux you got a Metal Halide light? how did you hook it up so that it can plug into the wall? I was thinking about getting something like that....but have no clue how to plug it into the wall without spending a lot of money on a ballast.

not for 30 bucks........if your on a bidget and trying to get more lightining get compact flourescents they are cheap......and i have never seen a MH lighting system without a ballast.....

I donno man, I actually picked mine up at a garage sale! That's something you might wanna think about checking... She told me if I could find a bulb for it she would let me take it... Worked for me.  I know most people aren't that lucky though so you might have to figure out some sort of way to get a little money... hell... when your first grow finishes sell like an 1/8 or some shit and get 50 bucks, go online and find a used 250-400w HPS that is used and I guarantee you can find one for that much...  I don't think my MH will flower plants very well since its not exactly the right spectrum but I guess I can always bring them outside in the sun to get some red light...

I really wouldn't worry about cash too much man, once you get dialed in on how to grow good amounts of bud efficiently you can make a little cash on the side and expand your setup...  I plan on learning to clone here and take a few from my plants and put them into flower once they root so I have plants harvesting at staggered times, ensuring I never run out... I can't fucking wait til' I flower em'. Should be this week!  :omgawesome:

Lookin' good man... You are seriously doing very well for how much exp. you have... I never had a "real" grow until about the 3rd year.  I was never a fan of those peat pellets as they dry out in about 18 hrs.  but if you can be there for your babies whenever they need it then they are probably a good choice.

I use 12 Oz. plastic cups for every seedling I start.  I grow them in those cups for 2 weeks then transplant to 1 gallon.  I continue in them for another 2 weeks then I move to a 4 or 5 gallon pot.  I truly feel it is beneficial for a plant to use the "step-up" method of transplanting.  If you let them get a little rootbound in a small pot, they are really utitilizing all the space they can, and then you give them a little more space and they dominate that space as well, when you finally give them a large area to consume they really take off as the roots are concentrated in all areas of the soil and have a huge root mass to support the rapid growth that is taking place above the soil!! Sorry I'm drunk and rambling but trying to help you out to understand all of this in a short period of time! Ya get it?

Ha yea boss I get it, and yea these little bastard pellets dry out fast cuz they are so small. But since I have no job it is really easy to watch over them. I'm thinkin of moving some of them outside if it would be benificial to them but I have never done that either.....any tips?

If your looking for a cheap light, home depot is the way to go. They have a 100w metal halide or a 150 hps light for outdoor use that you just have to add a grounded plug to and its good to go. Or if your crazy(like me) you can disassemble the light and use some epoxy and chain from the local hardware store and make a makeshift light with the refector in the light and make a remote balast out of the housing. But it is fine as it sits, I was just moving some heat out of the room. I have the MH, but the hps is identical. Also, i picked up my 400w Lumatek Switchable Digital balast with a sunleaves air cooled reflector, and 400w MH&HPS bulbs for $260 with shipping off of ebay and they are working great. A little pricier, but well worth it and still a great deal.

yeah me too! but most of the time i use thin basket coco pots, the then just transplant the entire pot and everything to a bigger pot and the roots will grow right through the first pot into the second, with no stress from tranplanting...

You're trying hard to spread good information I understand this but if you have paid attention Trip has said multiple times that he is broke, just like me and cannot afford to be purchasing any new equipment...

I used to always start my seedlings like that when I had the space and actually took pictures just like that looking down the tubes... Nice

I know he's broke. I only tried to list cheap lighting ideas in the hope that he might be able to come up with a small amount of cash to get one of those lights. I to was broke, untill I stopped smoking cigarettes, and then used that normally wasted money for the good of the grow. You never know what someones full situation is, and less face it, it doesnt take a miracle to come up with $70. That kind of cash can be made helping a buddy move or doing some side work for relatives.

lol its supposed to be nice this week for me :sun: but ya I figure that I will do better outside where the biggest lightbulb in the solar system is. My buddy is going to help me, he already found a good spot. But we found some deer as we were walking in so gotta plan for that. He's thinking just getting some chicken wire and spray painting it green. And then getting some fox urine and making a circle around the plants. And ya about the whole money situation I cant afford shit I mean literally I have been living off of noodles and rice and boiled eggs for a while now. Luckily I am supposed to be getting my security deposit back from my old landlords before wed. They were supposed to get it to me a while ago but they are assholes and charged me 150 bucks to clean the place even though I cleaned it before we moved out. So now I asked them to send me an itemized sheet of what exactly costed them 150 bucks to clean in the apartment. But back to the growing. I'm thinking its going to get cold here where i live in late september/early october. I have done some reading and I guess I will just have to move the plants to the treeline if it starts getting colder outside to make them get 12/12 or less of sun everyday so that they will finish up sooner. How does that sound?

Here is the spot down by the trees.

I hope it wasnt to early to get these babies outside.

Another pic of them

log by them

Kind of a cool sun pic, yes I know there are power lines but no one I have ever seen goes down here.

Looks like a perfect spot!!!  I wish I had a spot like that around here... I know there is I'm just too lazy to travel from my house... lol

I think it was a bit early because you are going to notice them stretch much more than if they were started for a week or two inside but they will grow... Just gonna be stretched which could cause the stems to snap if they aren't properly supported.

Nice job with the protection by the way!

I just barely moved mine outside, had no choice but to do it right away without giving them a few hours a day to adjust. So I guess we are in the same boat on if its going to fuck them up or not. You might want to get them actually into the ground asap. The sun will completely dry those cups out in like an hour or two and that could cause a lot of damage to the plants and even kill them a few hours later. Just speaking from my own experience though so others may say differently.

alright I might go back tomorrow and put them in the ground, but what I'm most worried about is the sun burning the leaves.

If they get full sun all day then yes they will burn.  If they receive shade periodically they will be alright.  FR is right though about them drying out that fast, I lost a ton of yield last year because they weren't in the ground.  Just dig up a nice big area, like 4 or 5 feet squared.  Dig it up about 1.5 feet down and if you have any potting soil, mix 1/2 existing soil to new soil and space out those babies at least 1.5 feet apart in the little garden bed you just created.  They might be a little crowded but they are only going to get to 2 or 3 ft tall by years end.  That's just what I would do, otherwise you can make separate holes for each plant but that takes more time and effort.  If you have any more Q's let me know, I'm just rambling the first things to come to mind...

Yeah thats what I'm worried about also but If it happens then there is always next year. too much is going on right now in my life that they would surely die indoors after a few more days of what was happening with them. and to top it all off my grow spot that is like 20 miles deep deep in the mountains where there is no trails or roads of any kind, when I went there a few days ago there was two people riding horses around the area. basically its desert and sage brush and then a small little crevice in the land has lush green life and in the very center is an empty area that my plants are in and when I went there as I walked out I saw 2 people riding horses and they saw me but I had a hiking hat and clothes on and a plant identification book in my hand so I hope they dont think anything of it and investigate. But either way I'm not going back for a month or two now. My freedom is more important than some really dank smoke.

Ya I will get my buddy to help me dig some holes tomorrow morning and we will get that shit planted....should I just move them to the shade? I mean we planted them north to south along that tree line so they wont be getting more than 9 or 10 hours of sunlight in the day. But I want to keep these guys alive. So I will try just about anything.

You might wanna try putting them low in the bushes so they get shade for some of they day and when they grow up taller and stronger they will get more light as they have grown taller and you can also knock down the surrounding vegetation to get more light in after a few days of "hardening off"

It's always better to get the morning sun w/ out the heat than to get the hot afternoon sun that dries everything out and causes stress. The morning sun is also more intense.

There is no way for me to tell unless I could spend a whole day at your spot tracking the sun/shade throughout the day.  It looks like there is plenty of brush and if you plant them around brush they will block some of the direct sun for parts of the day.  If they are going to receive more than 5-6 hours a day than they are likely to take some damage... But after the first few days you are going to want 8+ hours... I wouldn't put ANYTHING in the ground until they are hardened off, then you can worry about putting them in the sunniest spot possible.

Hey hey growery community. This is triptonic's partner in crime on this particular grow. I've done a little growing before, but only to the early vegetative stages, so I'm pretty green (haha) to growing. But yeah, I soaked the cups before we left them but we are going down tomorrow to plant them. The site is close to a stream and has good drainage, and the dirt is silt-loam with a lot of organic matter so it should be pretty good.

Hello new friend!

Seriously though guys I wouldn't plant them in the ground just yet.  Keep them in a partly shady area for 3-5 days and then introduce them to a sunny spot.  You won't regret it.  I have a 30 day old plant that has been 3" from my 175 MH and I put it outside for a full day of sun a few days ago and there is definately some heat stress/light burn on my younger growth... :frown: It probably set me back a few days for sure... And with those little guys it could easily fry all of them to death in 1 day. Please take my advice!!!

Nice dude, yeah that's a good thing if it's overcast for a few days, it will help harden them but you still gotta be careful of that first or second day/s of full sun.  Think of it this way, if you sat inside on your computer all day through the winter and summer comes and you go out on the lake or something for like 8 hours, and think about how bad your skin burns if you aren't constantly putting sunscreen on.  Same goes for your babies, the sun is even more intense for them because they are green and absorb more light/heat than us pale-skinned beings.

AND I GOT BURNT!!!!!!!!!!! the spot I have it in right now it will only get like 2 or 3 hours of sunlight cuz its blocked by this tree. Nice to hear, sounds like you are safe and they are gonna love it outside, just wait those things will be up to your nose by harvest time!  If you follow the proper procedure and dig down deep to loosen the soil.  I know you have soil like us up here in MN which is practically fine to use compared to ammended soil, lots of nutrient rich dark soil.  As long as you loosen it up they will take off like no other in the Sunshine!

Hey where are you headed in Minnesota!?!? I have lived here all my life and been all over the state and pretty much know most towns!

Im headed to a town called pemberton its right by new richland and about 30 miles away from mankato. How deep of a hole do you suggest I dig? And yea I would say that most of the midwestern soil is like the best soil in the US. Super dark and rich.

My buddy bought some pestacide stuff not sure what it was but it seems to kill things on contact haha also we dug up the earth a little around them so that the bugs wouldnt want to go close to them. Also for the deer and rabbits we put down some granulated deer and other animal repellant. How are your plants doin man? Havent seen ya in a while. Thought you were most likely dead hahaha jk.

So as you can tell they are having some problems with bugs mainly....Please look through the pictures and tell me what I am doing wrong. Some of them seem to have some leaf disorders and some of them seem to be doing OK. Any advice would be appreciated. I think some of the issue with the bugs is that I have heard the reason why the bugs swarm to little plants is because they have more sugars in them. So I'm expecting that after they grow a little bigger the bugs wont bother them as much. Also we have sprayed them with a bug repellent but every time we do this it rains ha ha go figure. Kinda like when you wash your car and then it rains right after. Its almost guaranteed.

neams oil, thats what i always used before and bugs hate that shit and since its oil the rain wont do much to it at all I'm guessing. When I used it before i had to dilute it with water and I sprayed my plants with it and it killed everything on them and kept things away and I misted my plants ever day with normal water and it didnt wash it away. It will give them a funky smell for a week or two though lol. some Diatomaceous earth around the base of the plants would probably help also, I saw a 10 pound bag of its on ebay for like 10 bucks earlier today.

What is Diatomaceous Earth? is it a soil? And where can I find said neams oil? Do you think that the browning on some of the leaves is from bugs or cuz of something else?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diatomaceous_earth
Quote:

Diatomaceous earth (pronounced /ˌdaɪ.ətɵˌmeɪʃəs ˈɜrθ/) — also known as DE, TSS, diatomite, diahydro, kieselguhr, kieselgur, brand names include Celatom or celite — is a naturally occurring, soft, chalk-like sedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder. This powder has an abrasive feel, similar to pumice powder, and is very light, due to its high porosity. The typical chemical composition of diatomaceous earth is 86% silica, 5% sodium, 3% magnesium and 2% iron.

Diatomaceous earth consists of fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of hard-shelled algae. It is used as a filtration aid, as a mild abrasive, as a mechanical insecticide, as an absorbent for liquids, as cat litter, as an activator in blood clotting studies, and as a component of dynamite. As it is also heat-resistant, it can be used as a thermal insulator.

Pest control

Diatomite is also used as an insecticide, due to its physico-sorptive properties. The fine powder absorbs lipids from the waxy outer layer of insects' exoskeletons, causing them to dehydrate. Arthropods die as a result of the water pressure deficiency, based on Fick's law of diffusion. This also works against gastropods and is commonly employed in gardening to defeat slugs. However, since slugs inhabit humid environments, efficacy is very low. It is sometimes mixed with an attractant or other additives to increase its effectiveness. Medical-grade diatomite is sometimes used to de-worm both animals and humans. It is most commonly used in lieu of boric acid, and can be used to help control and eventually eliminate a cockroach infestation. This material has wide application for insect control in grain storage.

and for neams oil I got my bottle of it from lowes or homedepot in the plant and fertilizer area of the store. Just ask someone working there in the area and they should know where it is.

Well here is an update but its a sad one. Looks like someone went to where I thought it was safe. They mowed a path all the way to the plants and then stopped. I'm like 100% sure they saw them. But they left them alone for some reason. I'm definatly not going back there for a while at least. Dont need to go to jail. Any suggestions?

I dunno man I'm kinda sketched now haha it was most likely a city worker but I mean I dont need to go to jail....I might hold of for a week or two. And ya If I do go it would probably be at night. I'm thinking they are just going to tear it down though. Although I dont know why they wouldnt just tear it down if they were going to.

Hard to call. Like your best bet if you want to keep them is to dig em up and move them elsewhere I'd say. Sounds like they've been found, or at least someone might suspect they've found them. Personally I doubt I'd be able to resist the temptation to go back.

Don't be too paranoid man.  They would have destroyed them if they didn't approve.  Most people would take that out by themselves since it's not a big operation involving the police and investigations.  I forgot to read back but you just transplanted them into the ground recently correct?  If so just let me know and we'll talk about what you should do.  I've been in your situation before and have also had friends have this happen to them.

The only bad thing that ever happened was some clever ass person used a needle to inject poison into 2 bottles of Organic Fertilizer and left them next to the garden with a note saying "Hint: Hide them better next time and use this.  It will work wonders!"  so the dumbass mixed up a bunch of it and fed all of his plants and low and behold the next day he comes back to check on em' and they were all completely dead.  Use your instincts and common sense bro'.

I would be really leary about going back to them too. But typically the pigs or your local drug team will take the plants and leave a calling card in there place!

I also had one friend tell me they had a crop Monitored by motion detecting camera's. It really depends on you area and how anal people are about pot growing.

That is a huge waste of money that they don't have just to bust a dozen immature (no offense trip) plants?

Really?

When it comes to busting anyone related to drugs of any sort, the sky is the limit!

Do you know how much "money they didn't have" to bust me? They bought $100 quarters from me on 5 different occasions and had $1000 ready for a 1/2 pound purchase.

Not only that, what money does it cost to place hidden camera other then the intial cost of the camera? No one sits and takes pics, hence the motion detection. Motion detecting camera's are rather cheap and easy to get from any outdoor supply store. So how would this be spending money, oh maybe the pig sitting there looking at the pictures, which would be rather easy and non time consuming since you only need to find the picture with a person on it, discard the animal shots!

And i used to be more ballsy until i learned that your ass pays for stupid decisions. You like to take the chance and pay with your own life in jail then go for it. But when a guy cuts a path all the way to his garden, and your unsure, i would listen to reasoning over flying from the seat of my pants anymore!

But like i say, its just my opinion nothing more.

You could go out at night, stick on a hoody when you're near and people aren't around and nab em. I mean it's not like they'll have a team at the ready to get you if you go back. They won't be planning a sting opperation. A camera is the most possible, but i'd still find it hard to believe they'd bother. And there's always ways around that. Stick on some indestinguisable clothes and hide your face and you're laughing.

Okay I work for a company that handles all of the available camera systems. More than likely if the cops set up any camera system they probably put one in that has infrared capabilities so they can see at night time. This is good for you. Grab a cell phone with a built in camera, grab a remote control for your tv and go into the bathroom with the lights off and turn the camera part of the phone on and point the remote control at the lens and push a button. That led on the front of the remote that never lights up is infrared. You cant see it with your own eyes but cameras see it very very well and its very bright to them. When a camera has infrared night vision (which almost all use infrared cause otherwise its out of everyones budget) it has like 20+ IR LED's on it pointing the same way as the camera is pointing so it lights up the area to be as bright as day for it. So all you would need to do is late at night hike around the area in a round about way slowly getting closer to your grow site using your camera phone to survey the area looking for very bright slightly purple light coming from the surrounding trees. If you see this get the fuck out of there as quickly as possible. If you really feel crafty you could always make a helmet or something that covers your head with IR LED's with them pointing in every direction in hopes to blind the cameras.  :tinfoil:

Below is a picture of what my camera phone saw when i pointed my remote at it and pushed a button. The ones used in cameras are quite a bit brighter on actual security cameras though so they produce enough light for the cameras to see for a good 30 feet or so.

good luck and remember some things just arnt worth going to jail for. and some things are *goes to jailbait thread* haha jk. and of course if you dont see any cameras, dig up, and replant after finding a better location.

Frozen reality's idea's very good. No other way for them to record at night secretly without infra reds. If you'd a video camera or a digital camera it'd be even better than camera phone. Smaller place, less chance they've fancy stuff set up to try catch you. If you go for it good luck.

What happens if they are motion detecting infrared camera's. Like the ones used to track animals in the wild?

Trip, you need to be the one to decide. Its your butt on the line here. I tend to agree with most everybodies opinions about getting them. But Knowing they were just seedlings and the fact that somebody mowed a path to them, would make me not go back. IMO my freedom is more valuable then anything.

Chances are the person who mowed to them will either sit on them and claim them his own. Or he turned the plot into the pigs. My recommendations would be if your going to attempt to get them, to wait for a month or so. If the pigs are watching then they will give up after a few weeks and pull them leaving you their calling card.

Keep a distance but keep an eye on them if possible. Do not let the mystery mower see you at all. Does this path lead from his home? Be safe whatever you decide and for real, listen to gut insticts! If i would have listened to my feelins in the past, it would have saved me 2 possession charges!

Ya dude the path looks like it was mowed by the city....I followed the path for a while and it looks like they mowed circles in some areas and marked bushes for cutting down or something.. Ya I dont think I will go back for a little while at least. Kinda sketched at this point. I think its good to be more paranoid than not.

You see these tall plants completely surrounding the entire area? Im not sure what it is but if my skin touches it (and it does every time I visit no matter how careful i am) my skin like instantly begins to sting and swell in the area and look like my skin is boiling. Fresh water rubbed over the area makes it go away in a few minutes though. I figured it would be a good area. Deep in the mountains in the center of a tight cluster of trees and stinging plants and it seems to keep pretty moist and cool in there compared to the rest of the area.

What did you decide to do on your ourdoor grow?

that would explain a lot lol. Id give it at least a month than just go hiking through the area to take a look at them quickly, basically what I did with my grow cause its security was compromised. I put them in the ground without watering them or anything and came back a month later and half of them were still alive and doing well  I'm thinking about doing them as a seed run/breeding project. The ones that are still alive can obviously handle the 106 degree weather and golf ball sized hail we have been getting lately and no rain at all so maybe it would be a good idea to work with the strains a bit more.

So what's the plan? A foot tall sounds way too big to be transplanting. You gonna chance going to give them the occasional bit of treatment?

By the way. BUG SPRAY! Very important.

Who knows, maybe you'll go down there in october and there will be a few lbs of great bud with the occassional bean to further the strain next season somewhere else without you needing to go down there and check on it till then. Kudos to your friend risking his ass. tell him to take pics next time lol.

Good to hear bro.  It sounds like you are safe.  I bet the dude that found em' was a stoner and planned to come back in the fall and take your nugs... I feel terrible about it but I did this once when I was younger to someone's dank ass plants I found.  Came back in the fall and took em' a few days before they did.  I only took 1/2 of the plants though, gotta leave em' some!  I would never do this these days as I've grown up a lot and give mad respect for anyone who has the common sense and balls to grow some herb for personal use.

Hey guys this is trip's friend. I just got back from the babies and there are 8 big fuckers, I'd say most are around 2-2.5 feet tall. They are starting to show sex organs, but it is too early to definitively tell what they are. I'll go out there tomorrow and get some pics thrown up, I've been out of town and busy with work and school (and just being lazy) so this was the first time I've checked on them in maybe 3 weeks or so. But yeah, they are rockin out, I'm going to go out there tomorrow with a sexing chart and a camera and get some pictures and throw them up here.

Awesome! So are you guys goin' 50/50 on these or what, since he's been lookin' after them recently...  My buddy Lucid has a nice garden with 30 females, including Afghani, Crystal, and a bunch of other strains and they are about the same size as yours.  The crystal has performed the best in our climate by far.  I'm saving his male crystal pollen and pollinating one of my WW x Kush fem's to make some bomb ass strain.  I can't wait to breed for my first time.

Nah man, have faith in humanity.  Sometimes you get lucky.  Believe me if they planned on taking them they probably would have jumped the gun and tried to take them that night.  I've had 9 foot tall monsters that got stolen 3 weeks into flowering, they tried to dig them up and transplant them... fucking faggot rippers... :shakefist:  They were called Hubba Bubba (Bubbleberry x Cinderella 99) and would have harvested over 1 lb. per plant... They were the best plants ive ever grown and they got fucking jacked.  I am sure they tried to take them as soon as they found them because otherwise they would have waited because it was a total waste of bud.  No way that plant could have survived a transplant out of the ground....

Not that I don't want to see this grow finished, but if I recall there was some discussion of cameras being planted by law enforcement. For anyone doubting that they would do such a thing: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/10989033 The title of the article is "Suspected pot grower tries to disable camera, gets mug shot taken"
