im not sure if i understood this right or if the person explaining it was wrong but do plants require more light the last 4 weeks of budding than the first 4? im using a 400 watt hps over six 1 foot plants in 1 gallon pots and 1 realy short bushy plant that is about 14 inches tall and 20 inches wide . i was thinking that if this is true i will add my 400 watt metal halide to it for the last couple weeks. i dont want to use them the whole time because of the power bill. i worry about the power bill not because of the electric company but because somone who isnt aware of it sends out their power bill and i dont want them to notice a huge rise in power. thanks alot, josh.
They use as much light as you give them. They dont necessarily need more light in the last four weeks, but adding more lumens in the last four weeks will absolutely give them a boost and help them pack on more weight.

Plants always use all the light they can. Larger plants will use more light than smaller because they have a larger leaf coverage. You don't need a second light for the last 4 weeks.
