is that 26w daylight color temp?

do it by lumens, think u need like 3k lumens per sq ft for good results, one 26 w cfl gives out like 1500 lumens, so do the math since ur sposed to be good at it :p

but with my very limited experience it seems that tubes work better, they give off less heat and more light, the downside is that theyre bulky, i had a few plants tried to continue vegging under 2 26w cfls while switching the others to flower, and the ones vegging under cfls started feeling kinda shitty.....but this is only my first grow...i'm probably stupid for not using a HPS for flowering lol.

infra red cameras detect heat through anything, they can spot grow houses from the sky, and look for heat leaks from the ground, they did it on that DEA show that used to be on....probably not a problem for a small grow tho

they detect heat on the outside of the house not what's on the inside.  a well insulated interior room can easily be hidden.

Thank u I was going to tell him what he seen on DEA was them finding the exhaust trail not the 15 or 20 lights that was in that dudes basement. Not to memtion the only reason they were looking was because dude was using illegal elec.

cfl's cost more to set up actually and yield about half as much and the quality of buds is less.

k basically 42w cfl = 15$ with socket x 10 = 150$ + 50$ building materials for a cab(they have to be mounted on something)

so this is a 420w cfl setup and a 400w hps would cost the same thing more or less.... also a 250w hps would likely yield the same as 420w cfls and would pay it's self off in nuggs.

you want to get 2700-3200k spectrum for flowering 5500-7200 for veg.

oh yeah my bad they can't see inside ur house, but when u have enough of those lights ur gonna have to have some sorta outlet for the heat, and the DEA thing i was talking about they didn't look for a particular house, they just scanned from a helicopter and raided the house that lit up.  but yeah i guess that wouldn't be a problem with a small op.......sry i been without sleep for a while lol

sweet, i've been smoking on extracted hash oil type shit from the males out of my grow, got like another 4-6 weeks til the real thing is ripe, since i'm using fluoros i probably won't get too much, but i'd be happy with like 3 oz out of the 3 plants, hopefully i'll have enough patience to cure most of it properly :flyhigh:

try to spend a month on drying and curing properly cured buds is key.

I've been getting fairly good shit lately but it's not even properly dried let alone cured and fuck that pisses me off.

lol ya people who grow for profit don't give a shit about the quality they just want to get it out asap, the majority of street nugs could be way better with a proper cure

that last month is gonna suck lol, at least right now i can watch the plants grow and bud up, then i'll just be watching buds sitting there...
ill probably set aside a little bit after drying to have something to smoke on lol, or maybe ill just smoke on the hash that ill make from the leaves and trim

btw that reminds me, do u guys know a store where i can get a jewelry loupe, or do i have to order it online?

or keep the taste testing to a minimal.

it's kind of funny how people (including myself) smoke their buds before they're dried and cured usually with the excuse (my real expectation) that it's a proper taste test and gauge potency when really it's not.

smoking on non cured buds is weaksauce too, I get so fucking angry when I buy non dried/non cured buds.

in my experience the longer I cure the better.

arjan from ghseedco says 4-8months = prime smoking time

ive never cured that long... yet :smile:

a month is definately good

them dutch people are weird harvest mad early compared to us north americans and cure way longer

I think less than a  month is normal in North America and Spain and such.
