DEA Raiding Dispensaries in CO
    #694852 - 11/21/13 02:08 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

DENVER, CO — As many as 30 medical marijuana dispensaries and other businesses in Colorado area are currently being raided by the DEA, IRS and local police according to sources in the area.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Denver has issued a statement confirming the ongoing operation, which is being conducted by the DEA in collaboration with the Internal Revenue Service and the Denver Police Department, but declined to comment further citing an ongoing investigation.

Click here for the rest of the article thats posted above.

Click here for photos of the raids.

I know there are a handful of CO members here on the boards. Do any of you have any more info on this?

Maybe I'm being naive, but i assumed that the feds were gonna leave well enough alone after CO passed legalization. These dispensary raids make me wonder what the feds will do when all the recreational mj shops open up in january.

More than likely they will stay low until there's a good amount of income to seize.

Of course they have to break windows and make a mess of everything while they're there too

They will hit them hard at first to try and deture them from opening in the first place and then they will hit them a few months later with letters to landlords and stuff.

What clubs just can't seem to understand is it's the ones that advertise on tv and crap that get hit first.

damn, i drove right pass the swiss grow facility today when i went to boulder...also went to 2 dispensaries in boulder today

but the building that swiss had in boulder that got raided with all the plants used to be a dispensary, back in august they got shut down by the county becuase the building wasnt zoned business or something

they shut the shop down, then kept growing there for their other shops.

who knows why they are doing it tho, maybe taxes were fucked up, maybe they linked someone to moving stuff out of state who was working for them, maybe a bunch of their patients were moving their stuff out of state so theyre guilty by association

who knows, pretty shitty tho

I'm sure this will happen in my state once it's fully legal. We will most likely be the next state to legalize cannabis. They just legalized recreational use of mj in my states largest city. Portland, Me. There's a catch though. It's legal to possess 2.5 oz of mj , but they worded the rules so there's still no legal way to purchase or sell it for recreational users.

I'm obviously a little biased do to my line of work, but i don't see the need for dispensaries anyhow. I personally think the sale of mj should be kept behind  closed doors and out of the public eye. I wouldn't want to raise my family in a town where there's a dispensary on every other street corner. Allowing caregivers to supply meds to patients/recreational users would benefit the economy far more than a  dispensary can. No matter what state you're in.

Just my personal opinion.

That's what cowards do to try and intimidate those that they have targeted.

here, read this article, and calm down. this stuff is going to happen, because some people aren't going to play by the rules. this case sounds like it goes kind of deep. none of the real dispensaries out here have anything to worry about. unless they have ties to colombian and cuban gangs...

...im not trying to cover for them at all, but you have to fucking expect it. dont be so naive.

also, idk where you came up with killing dogs. no dogs were harmed in the raids...

but i do know very well about dogs being shot in other raids. in my hometown of columbia missouri, the police shot and 1 pit bull, and shot and injured a corgy while serving a search warrant and all they found was a grinder and a pipe. cops were nice enough to charge him with child endangerment, even though it was the police who endangered the children in the house by coming in shooting guns immediately.

Calling a coward a coward is not being naive

Neither is expecting better behavior from our police force :imslow:
