trying alternative odor control
    #640701 - 10/16/12 05:44 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

So after doing some research on himalayan salt lamps I have decided to try using them instead of conventional methods (carbon filters/scrubbers/Ona gel) I'm buying four salt lamps and three salt candle holders for 70$ and we will see how well it works, I will be sure to let everyone on here know how it goes.

These are all of the claimed effects of a Himalayan salt lamp:

Helps by cleaning the air pollution in your house (Ionizing Effect)
- Helps to clear out the bronchial tubes and sinuses
- Helps to kill bacteria and other microbes
- Helps relieving the symptoms associated with asthma and allergies in general
- It is a natural dehumidifier
- Neutralize electromagnetic wavelengths caused by electronic devices * (Good for computer rooms)
- The lamp will minimize the effect of all radiation
- Made from Authentic Himalayan Salt
- It's biophysical characteristics have a positive effect on one's well-being
- Brings positive energy and mood into your home or work
- Promotes relaxation and improve quality of sleep
- A Himalayan Salt Lamp makes a perfect Fengshui art/decor

The Himalayan Salt Lamps can be used as: Night light for kid's room, computer rooms, spa rooms, Yoga rooms, as an Ionizer and air purifier, natural dehumidifier, as a asthma and allergies relieving device and/or as a beautiful Fengshui art.

I am currently growing in a 2'x4'x5' grow tent with a 400 watt hps/mh
I have three plants vegging and five seedlings, the smell is minimal right now but I expect it to get pretty intense when I start flowering. If this works I will have found a cheaper, healthier, fengshui method of odor control which would be awesome.

Good luck with it.  Depending on your setup, it probably wont really kill the smell.  But ya never know.
