MARCH 17 HEARING SET ON DECRIMINALIZATION BILLS
The legislature's Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety has scheduled a hearing on two exciting bills for March 17:
LD 754 "An Act To Remove Criminal Penalties for Possession of up to 5 Ounces of Marijuana"
LD 750 "An Act To Decriminalize Possession of 6 or Fewer Marijuana Plants"
The hearing will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Room 436 of the State House.
Every Maine resident has the right to testify at this hearing.
You don't need to be an expert or an experienced public speaker -- just come and speak your mind.
We need as many people as possible to come out and speak up for the right of Mainers to grow and use this plant responsibly.
If you can't make it to the hearing, you can still speak in favor of the bill by writing to the committee -- http://www.maine.gov/legis/house/jt_com/crj.htm

MMCM MEMBER WILL NEILS PROFILED IN DOWN EAST MAGAZINE
MMCM member Will Neils was profiled by novelist Richard Grant in the February issue of Down East magazine -- http://www.downeast.com/coffee-with-that/2011/february/appleton-makes-trouble . Grant describes Neils as “Buddha on ecstasy” and recounts some of his adventures defending Maine’s wild places.
We’re proud to have Will in our network.
