A few hash questions.
    #504978 - 12/12/10 12:09 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

Alright so I am quite an experienced bud smoker, but I am new to the wonderful world of hash. Ive smoked it about 5 times and absolutely love it.  Im curious, does bubble hash smoke the same as regular hash that it sieved? And also what is the difference between full melt and bubble hash?

full melt is a type of bubble hash, it's an indicator of the quality you're smoking.

Alright. So full melt is high quality bubble hash. But does normal bubble hash smoke the same as regular sieved hashish?

Bubblehash is a bit smoother than dry-sieved hashish after first being made.  Dry-sift benefits from being cured a bit, thereafter it is also a smoother smoke.

Kief can often have more flavor than ice-water hash.  This is because more terpenes are kept with the hash; these provide much of the flavor of cannabis.

Full melt is a designation of quality of ice hash as Coda already said.  It is also referred to as full melt clear dome.  Some of this terminology is somewhat specific to BubbleMan and his hashish forum.  The best dry-sieved hash can also "bubble" or "dome" and be referred to as "full melt".

Full melt clear dome (fmcd), with ice hash, is obtained from the first run of the cannabis through the bags and is most often found in the 70μ-90μ range.  The cannabis is allowed to chill in the bucket of ice water for 5-20minutes and than hand-stirred with a big spoon from the kitchen instead of using an electrical mixer.  This first run of the cannabis is sometimes hand-stirred for as little as 6 minutes before pulling the bags.

Dry-sieved kief is made, usually, using 2-4 different screens. Using frozen material and moving it gently across the screens with a credit card or something works great.

Thank you Psuper. Very informative. So you couldnt just use one size sieve for dry sieved hash? you have to use more than one?

No, you could certainly use just one screen.  My above statement about using multiple screens is more about how to obtain "melty" dry sieve.  I have less experience sieving kief than I do making ice hash, but it boils down to the same principles: using mesh to gather and isolate the glandular heads of trichomes away from contaminant plant material, yummmmm.

Normally in Morocco, they use lady silk screen, then they beat with 2 stick´s from the plant, put a strong visible plastic bag cover and 5 or 4 min beating with the stick´s,5 min later they take out the plastic, keep the rest of the grass, and the bud´s,to make the same again,2nd quality hash, after they repeat 2,3,4 times with the same,so quality decreases.
the first they call it (zero-zero),from there they do hundred´s of dif kind´s of hash, see Smoker´s Guide.
