Air cooled hood intake inside cab?
    #456143 - 08/06/10 11:07 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

If my exhaust is hooked up with an inline fan pulling 170 CFM attached to a carbon scrubber drawing through an air cooled hood can the hoods intake hole be inside the cab? So it pulls up the O2 from the plants and sends it through the light to cool, then be filtered all in one? Will this setup be able to suck the air from my cab efficiently and without leaking odor from my intake holes on the bottom of the cab? I want to utilize 1 fan to do both jobs and the current space im working with is 50 cubic feet open to expansion of about 60-70 later.

Also whats the general rule of thumb for a healthy FAE... is it something like 2 cab exchanges per minute?

That's how my set up is.  It goes thru the filter, then the hood, and out to the fan, and I have no smell issues at all.  I'm running 400 watt HPS in 30 cubic feet, 2x3x5, and use a 190/170 cfm fan.

Yup two per min is a good goal to shoot for.  It's always more efficient to have one fan for your light and one fan for your cabinet for exhaust, however, you can run it with one fan just fine in smaller setups.  If you add in that extra 60 sq ft of room you might want to look into strong fans or adding one to just take care of your light.
