I think it matters what sort of beneficials you use. If you use an anaerobic beneficial and add air you're just going to kill it off quickly. Ie. Roots Excelurator. I'm not even sure if this particular product can thrive without being reintroduced over and over.
Most beneficials do however fall into the aerobic category.

Light at night? Are you talking about indoors? I think it goes to without saying that the presence of light indoors is considered day.
I've studied circadian rhythms in psychology and biology before and there was never much emphasis on bacteria. Reason being that some bacteria go from not existing to reproducing in a matter of 20 minutes (E. coli) this means in a 12 / 12 day a family of bacteria could go through 36 generations @ 20 minute reproduction periods. I don't know of other reasons of how light would effect bacteria generally speaking. Some bacteria are drawn or repelled by the presence of light but that can't be said for bacteria in the general sense.
I am not an expert just looking to be helpful or spark some material of discussion.
