Outdoor clone drooping...too much sun?
    #454278 - 08/02/10 02:30 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

I got a clone the other day that was in a cube that I think was made of peat moss? Anyway I transplanted that into soil and had it under direct sunlight. It started wilting pretty quickly but I thought it might have just been shock from the transplant so I let it be. Conditions weren't improving and probably getting worse, so I just took it and put it in the shade. Should I leave it in the shade 24/7 or give it a couple hours of sunlight? Also, I've been keeping the soil damp, should I let it dry out or maybe even water it more? And lastly, do you think it's doomed for a slow painful death?

you gotta ease them into full sunlight over a few days.

i just put my clones in the shade on my back porch for like 3 days then give them 1/2 a day full sun for a few days, then just leave em out and they seem to do fine:shrug:

you should let it dry out a bit after a watering. it could be drooping due to overwatering

How old is your clone? Did your friend let it root before giving it to you? If not, and there's no roots, the direct light is BAD. If there are no roots, it may be too late to save.

also...yes, you should let the soil dry between waterings. I water every 2-3 days. If you poke your finger into the soil up to your first knuckle, and the soil is dry, go ahead and water.

theres no way over watering can make a plant look like THAT. I think the roots are not fully formed yet. Give it a nute supplement with a high phosphorus amount and see if it gets healthier, if its not already dead that is.

You got the clone from the club right?  They sell them while they still have shitty root systems that have just barley reached the edge of the rockwool.  You need to take close care of them until they can develop a full root system and really start to grow.
