flowering 12 weeks?
    #400073 - 04/12/10 12:29 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

The trichomes haven't started to turn amber but its been 12 weeks and all the hairs are brown but new buds with white hairs keep growing also. Trying to get pictures on but having a problem. Any advice on whether to harvest or wait.

You don't have to wait until they turn amber. Some strains more on the sativa side can flower for what seems like forever, any idea on what kind of genetics you are working with?

Also, why are your buds wet, you aren't foliar feeding this late in the game are you?

it looks like your plant is trying to reveg a little bit too. Have you been letting light in during the dark cycle?

http://No they're not wet, thats just some drippage on the leaves when I took them out and they are in complete darkness from 7-7am. I don't know their genetics but there are 5 Indica and 3 Sativa.

Dripping came from watering I take it? Getting wet often this far into flowering could potentially cause you some mold problems. Something to keep an eye on.

I'd give it another 2 weeks. All that new growth is just adding weight to your final harvest. You're gonna have to harvest with white hairs at some point, by the looks of it. I just think there are too many right now to consider it done.

That looks like a light leak to me man. Maybe make sure they are getting enough dark, if you want them to ever look finished.

Thanks but the funny thing is even as I harvest from the bottom huge new all white hair buds are growing in making it difficult to harvest. Wondering if I should just harvest everything that isn't new? Leave the new buds on the stalks to continue or just harvest it all together, like I said over 12 weeks.
Maybe a 400 watt HPS is causing it to take longer than a 6000-1000?http://http://

That's tough man, usually the plant matures top to bottom, not bottom to top :stoned:

If it was me, I would harvest and try again

Are you sure they're not just 12 weeks old from seed and only flowering for say 5 weeks or so? those plants definitely don't look like they're 12 weeks into flower.....

Really? That's definitely not what I've noticed, but I suppose that might be something that changes from room to room and strain to strain

No they started Nov. 4 and 12/12 started around x-mas, new years. So what about just harvesting everything that's not new or white and leaving the rest to mature for a couple more weeks.

well you've asked us if you can harvest in almost every post in this thread so that's obviously what you want to do. If it were me I would just be patient and let them finish up because they're definitely not done, but ultimately it's your choice

Just to be clear every thread didn't ask "should I harvest" being new the unanswered question is, "should I (is that protocol) harvest just the bottoms." That's it. Thought this was the place to ask people who might have more experience.

You asked us 4 times in this thread if you should harvest

My personal advice is no. Other people said yes. Take it or leave it

Yeah you are right, I think how tall the plant is VS light wattage plays a role in how fast the bottom branches mature.

I'd say these buds are at least 2-3 weeks from finishing, maybe 4 if they are a high % sativa.

Try shortening the day period, I've read that this can help some ~99% sativa's finish up. Try 11/13 or 10/14, The longer 12/12 sometimes can keep a sativa flowering for months.

That is, if you are sure there are no light leaks :crankey:
